Holdem Machine Locations

Is there a list somewhere of all their locations?

David, do you think you have an edge on the holdem machines?

Re: Holdem Machine Locations

I've seen it at the following locations:

Wynn
Aria
Bellagio
Venetian (not 100 percent it's still there)
Harrahs (this was a surprise)

FWIW: I have attempted to discuss the machine with Mr. Sklansky on two occasions in person. The first time, in the machine's early existence, he spoke candidly about possible maps.

The second time, several months later, I told him that I had played it fairly straightforward and done OK, he said simply, "You're not going to beat it for very much." And that he plays while waiting for live games.

Candid disclosure: the second time I approached him, he was away from the machines and likely busy with other stuff.

I will post here if I find the machine in other Vegas spots.

Re: Holdem Machine Locations

In addition to randomrules' list, over the holidays, I saw them at:

Mandalay Bay
Mirage
Flamingo (high limit slot room)
Red Rock

FWIW, MGM properties don't accrue players' points. CET and Station properties seemingly do accrue points (although at what level, I'm not sure).

Obv they are both giants (for comparison, look at all the tiny people behind them).

Sklansky, confirmed 7 foot one. Could have made the NBA if he hadn't decided to become one of poker's all-time greatest minds.

Ha ha. Most definitely. I was looking for the machine, saw it in the High Limit Slot room and thought... time to be a Flamingo balla. I was driven away by a guy who told me he had just fed $25 into a particular video poker machine, and so it was "due to pay off" and I should play it. On the plus side, the waitresses in the Flamingo high limit room are a good 20 years younger than the rest; making them approximately 45.

For CET, at least for the lowest limit ($2/$4), it looks like you get a Tier Credit per $10 wagered (just like video poker). I played it at the Rio just after labor day and got 26 Tier Credits in about 15 minutes, of course the damn thing took me for $100 on top of that...bah
