So whilst watbri is off getting sunburnt on a desert golf course in the height of summer in the middle of the day, I'm about to hunker down in WSOP Event #28 $1500 Triple Draw Lowball. Buoyed by the success of not cashing yesterday's $250 2-7 triple draw at Planet Hollywood, I'm reverse parlaying into this thing

Or, let's put it another way..... I'm taking a shot with no expectation of a positive return and will be happy to make third break, very happy to bag and tag at the end of the day, and delighted to min-cash.

And a final reason is that I hope to have a poker "name" on my table. This is a good event for those pros that are bracelet hunting - small field and a game that is usually only spread as part of the higher stakes mixed games. From a personal point of view, Federer ain't gonna play me at tennis, Tiger Woods ain't gonna want to play 18 holes with me, and I've long since given up hope of being signed up as Liverpool's new number 9. But I do have hope of playing against the best in the business in this thing and that is what playing these events is about for me. Cash games for money, and WSOP tournaments for bucket lists.

Had a fun day golfing with friends at Coyote Springs...it's about 60 miles north of Vegas in middle of nowhere. It's a Jack Nicklaus design, a beauty for sure.

We played the blue tees (6700 yds).my best friend Mike shot 75, I shot 80 , our other friends shot 78 and 84. Great course conditions, it was hot but not stifling.

Gonna grab dinner then freshen up after and probably play cards tonight.

6050 at first break from 7500 starting. Was going very nicely until 5 minutes from the break when I 5 bet capped pre with 2357 and we went 4 way. Clearly biggest pot of session. Bet every street and drew K, then Q then 2.

Trying awfully hard to convince everyone you played golf. It's okay if you went to Pahrump, nobody will judge you.

It's a great starting hand but still needs to improve. The nuts is 23457.

Got 8200 at second break - peaked at 10.5k, dipped at 4.5k. Phil Hui at my table but he's the only recognisable one. Two players busted from my starting 6 so I haven't disgraced myself so far.

Whilst it is relevant.... just chipped up to 10.4k and now have the biggest stack on the table.
But, only by a smidgen and things are changing quickly on this table now with blinds at 150/300 and limits at 300/600

The good news is that I have achieved my first target of making the third break. I'm happy.

The bad news is that I have only 4K after not winning a hand at my new table. I can only really afford to play one more hand so, after the break, it's gonna be go big or go home.

That was the aim! And very happy with how it turned out. Will definitely be back to play this event next year. Was glad I made it a goal to play a non-NLHE event and recommend it to everyone that plays for enjoyment as well as money.
