Hope some of you can clear this one up for me.
I'm planning on transferring the vast majority of my roll to the cage at Venetian ( where I'm staying) in June.

Seems straight forward. Just the wording of this stipulation confuses me.

• Cash for a wire transfer is not to exceed 10% of the total amount of the wire.


Any ideas what that means ?

I believe it means you can only withdraw 10% in cash upon arrival, the rest must be in casino chips.

That would surprise me though, normally you can't take any % in cash.

Venetian has special rules to aid in money laundering.

So There's nothing stopping me with the remaining 90 %, changing chips to cash / cash to chips multiple times at the cage. So I can take my roll off property?

I'm not looking to take advantage off there system. The vast majority of my play will be in there room i think.

I'd suspect that you could also ask for slot vouchers. Have them print up a few at a thousand a copy, put them in your room safe, cash in kiosk as needed.

You generally can only get chips at the table, where you sign a marker against your deposit. They make it difficult for you to leave the table without settling up on the marker. If you were a big winner, they probably let you take the winnings in excess of the marker.

I don't know if this is done, but it would be easy for them to encode slot vouchers with the fact that you are playing against a cage deposit, and when the kiosk reads this, give you a message to see the cage for cashouts.

Just wire some money and take some as cash with you.

Yup. What pig said 100%. You really should call and ask if you're thinking about doing this.

a marker is against a line of credit. If you wire money you should be able to access at will, but I agree you should call to be sure.

Bitter personal experience here. I wired front money to the V cage and they dishonored my hotel reservation. I then went to the cage where everyone is treated like a money laundering criminal. They gave me 0 in cash, I had to take it out at a table. No matter that they had walked me and I had no intention of wagering a plug nickel.

Fortunately they didn't complain when I drew all the money in chips, gambled only a little bit, and then cashed out.

And this was several years ago, before V replaced the friendly dealers with sullen ones, cut way back on comps, and switched to 6:5 blackjack.

You do NOT want to wire your poker BR to the V (except maybe for tournament entry fees, call and ask). Pit game money only or you'll be ****ed.

Thinking about it...It's easy to get my roll over there. I'm not a high roller. 20k or so and my wife can carry cash too.


I guess my question should of been how do I get any winnings back to the UK and not get ****ed on exchange rates!?!

I don't have any poker friends to sell dollars back too...

Don't split the money with your wife, just declare it at customs.

When is your return? If it's between late May and the middle of June you should have no trouble exchanging with 2p2'ers on the way over for the Series.
