hi,

My wife and I are staying in The Golden Nugget .

Now they have told us that a cap drive is very expensive when we are going every day to the Strip and take a cap back to the GN.

Are there any alternatives and what do you think is the best (cheapest) way to do this ? We are visiting Las Vegas for the first time. We don’t now are way in town.

Also the trip from the airport to the GN. Can we take a bus drive ?

All advice is welkom

Freddy

It's called a cab. And take a taxi from the airport, but there's a bus for going to the strip from downtown.

Deuce Bus - One way ticket - $2. One day pass - $5.
Mandalay Bay to Fremont Street (Downtown). Frequent stops.

Cat Bus - One way ticket - $2. One day pass - $5. Use Route 301 (local) or 302 (express) buses. Mandalay Bay to Fremont Street (Downtown). Frequent stops for Route 301. Nine stops for Route 302.

Please have plenty of one dollar bills. Bus drivers do not give change.

For the trip from the airport, seek out a company called "Las Vegas Limo", you can share a limo to the Gold Nugget and it will cost about the same as a cab ride.

oh, and you might look up multi-day passes for the monorail that runs on the strip. After you have trudged on foot from one end of the strip to the other a couple of times, you will appreciate being able to jump on the monorail.

Here's a link to estimated cab fares.

http://taxi.state.nv.us/FaresFees.htm

Looks like the cab fare is about $25ish.

Rent a car! You can get one for about $20 a day with a little research, much better then spending hours on a packed to the rafters bus or taking expensive cabs.

The ACE bus is faster than the Deuce with fewer stops. Same price -- it's now $7 for 24 hours on RTC premium lines.
