I know there are many sportsbooks at Vegas but i wanted to know what is the minimum and maximum wagers? I know it depends on the sport but i know NFL games definitely they take bigger bets. What is the minimum they take ? I normally bet a couple of hundred per game in sportsbooks online.

There's no maximum, and a minimum is probably $5

There most certainly is a maximum. Depends on the sport. Can be as low as 500 for stuff like wnba. If you're a high rolling pit player you can get more than the stated max on mainstream football and basketball. If you're a hotel guest you can get more at some places. For instance venetian max on reg season baseball is to win 1k. But you can get more if you're staying there.

5 bucks at most strip places for minimum. I think there are parlay cards where you can bet 2 bucks. 2 bucks on horses.

Plus you can get around the max by betting at multiple sportsbooks.

There's def. a maximum that's bellow the amount it prolly takes to fix the game. No matter where you're trying to place the bet, sportsbook or online.

I would highly doubt that's over 100k for something like a Double-A game.

The average Joe walking in cold could never bet that much. For PR purposes casinos will make special deals for certain clients...but I would imagine they lower the line on those bets. In the "old" days books would give rebates to big players but I think that was outlawed.

No, not even close to 100% right. Venetian certainly takes more on MLB than to win $1000 from unrated non-guests. He implies any book will take at least $500 on anything which is patently false.

I'm guessing that the maximum varies by the odds on the bet. The maximum bet for a 1:1 payout is going to be very different than the maximum bet for a 100:1 payout.

As a similar example, check out the payout maxima on roulette tables. There's different maximum bets for inside (up to 35:1) and outside bets (up to 2:1).

If you are betting a couple hundo per game you will have no problems at any of the big casinos.... I would guess you can put a couple dimes down on any 10% juice game with no problems..... when you get up to the 10k area, they might need to get it approved, maybe push your line by a 1/2 point.

I spoke to a pit boss at the Wynn about maximum bets in general. 100k at table games is generally the maximum. Then he said there have been well over 1 million dollar bets in the sports book, but only on certain games (I assume the super bowl is a prime example - oh and some soccer games).

For all real intents and purposes, there's no max bet.

For all of you who say there's no max....I think its 20-30k for nfl. I know for sure college basketball is $10k max at mgm. Only special players can bet more than that.

Thats just silly to say there is no max.

http://wizardofodds.com/askthewizard/sports.html isn't terribly authoritative about his answer, but has a list. But I know someone who bumps into the MLB limits from time to time, having to put bets at multiple books sometimes to accomplish his goal. Must be the limits on total points that he said most get in his way. When you're paying the vig and hoping to eek out a few percent profit from each bet, a $2000 or $10000 limit isn't really huge.

Not many places will take $2K on an MLB total. Even fewer will take $10K on a side.
