Wow I feel lucky to be alive! I was in Vegas in January and walked alone at 10pm from Sahara all the way down the strip. Only prob was the people flickin the hookers cards! Mind you I am 6 2 and 300 pounds! Caught the bus back that runs up and down the strip. That was one of the highlights of my trip. The driver was an absolute commedian, cracking jokes and dissing people who werent aware of it. When a stop came up he would announce it in the most jaded, over it voice, the whole bus was in stitches laughing. The next night I walked alone to Stratosphere and back, then back down the srtrip and over to hooters casino. no probs.
One thing that happened a few times was being approached at odd times for money. I was in the parking lot of a Walmart one morning about 11 am and a woman about 30 came up and asked me if I could spare some money. She looked quite normal and well dressed, not at all like a hooker or drug addict. This happened two more times with relatively normal looking people. Sign of the times maybe? Plus when driving around I was asked by other drivers if I wanted new wheels for my rental car 3 times and offered 2 pshychic readings and sexual services! I drove all over Vegas and I reckon the nicest area to live is Summerlin area, especially if you are into golf. or Green Valley ranch is also nice. There are other pockets of high class areas dotted around the place but not as well designed as Summerlin. I couldnt believe the prices of houses in January and they have dropped even further now. You will get a bargain Im sure.
