This is an excellent idea but I'm sorry man, the execution is just unbelievably bad. The videos are unwatchable (what's with the pink) and your monotone delivery puts me to sleep. You're just not cut out for this sorry to tell you.

Am I the only one who rocks out to the guitar and then fast forwards through the review?

Perhaps on average, there is certainly a high concentration of grinders living in LV. But there are 40 million annual visitors and more poker games running round the clock in a 5 mile radius than anywhere in the world. Anyone who can't find a good game must not be very observant.

Hey I agree with you the quality is poor, the editing isn't great, my speaking skills are not amazing but everyone has to start somewhere. It takes practice to get good at anything. Someone who gives up after 4 tries will never accomplish anything great.

Yep, kind of inspired by this awesome thread:

This is my first time messing with editing software so bear with me, working my way up to TheTrooper97 quality someday!

I am planning to make a video for each poker room on the Strip.

Mandalay where the floor makes up its own quirky rules. Read in Live casino forum how one player was asked by another how much he would call on the turn on the flop or river and when he told him other player bet that amount he folded floor was call and said amount he told other player was binding lolol. Footage seemed blurry op is no trooper.

MB definetely makes shyte up "on the fly"... that could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on where you come down the decision. Poker room variance.

Mandalay Bay has the most profitable 1/2 NL games I've seen in Vegas. Tourists staying there have more money to lose than they have in casinos nearby and the room is unpopular on 2+2.

I was a semi reg there years ago. Plenty of fish for sure but the horrific beats and the weird rules made me go elsewhere. I did win the biggest 1/2nl pot that I ever won in that room with bottom set and 5 way all in on turn, around $1400
on a Friday the 13th. lol

Also the cigar smoke from the cigar store a few feet away was horrific. People buy them and smoke up right there and the smoke just drifts right in.

They are filming a new Bourne movie on the Strip 18th to 28th so I am avoiding the massive traffic hassle. I'll be back to posting regularly after that.

... 8 months is short in the grand scheme of things

But I am back on the poker room review grind, let's see how many I can pump out in Dec.

I'm just offering my perspective, if anyone wants to join in and provide more data points that would be awesome!

Here is one of my favorite poker rooms: Aria

Stopped watching about 2/3rds of the way through.

Ideas for things that could be improved:

- intro is way too long, shorten it
- add some kind of voiceover to the intro explaining the purpose of the vid
- lose the intro music or up its sound quality
- vid is waaaaay too dark, this is probably the thing most in need of fixing
- don't reference a list so obviously
- be more engaging, you sound bored
- lose the X/5 graphic popups
- show something other than you standing on a roof the entire time

You clearly have a lot of good information to convey, but need some practice with delivery. The quality of the production values, especially the overall darkness, really detracts from the content of your message.

Hey thanks for the constructive feedback, I think you make some good pts

Ill try and address them all since you took the time

- Ok maybe 30 or 40 seconds would be better
- Good idea to express the purpose of the vid in first 5 seconds
- I will have to invest in some better camera/audio equipment, I noticed this myself in the last interview did, the subpar audio quality really detracts from it.
- This comes back to better equipment, I want to invest in a camera with a flip up monitor.
- I think I could make each point in a separate take (I can easily memorize 1 pt at a time so as not to need a reference sheet), and move to different locations which also addresses last bullet
- I will work on adding a little more enthusiasm and vocal variety
- Maybe I could just include a quick report card slide at the end with a tally

Thanks again, I'll try to improve these things the best I can in forthcoming reviews.

- Intro no longer than 15 seconds would be good.

- The darkness can also be solved by choosing a different location, it's not solely an equipment issue. You can choose a location with proper lighting, or go with natural lighting during the daytime.

- Separate takes for each category is a very good idea, especially by changing to relevant locations for each take. Also helps address the perceived interactivity between you and the audience.

- Report card slide is a good idea, much better than the upper corner fractions.

Your use of the overhead long shot of the Bellagio Fountains was awesome.

Just wanted to say that compared to your earlier reviews, the production values are getting much better. Much easier to see and hear. There is still room for improvement, but you've come a long way. Keep at it!

Thanks for the encouragement. I think I have developed a little better feel for cadence and cut out some of the clips that were too long. My galaxy s7 shoots a lot better night time shots that the HTC one m7 I was using for the first vids. I still think I can improve though.
