GL Trooper, great vlog for us wanting glimpse into the LV grinder life. I think it's awesome you were able to get a job and give yourself a a chance at success. given how you appreciated your last restaurant/coworkers it sounds like it's good for you mentally as well, ?? Easy for me to say though, I was a waiter 15 years ago and I still get nightmares from it.
Stories are written every day, you write this MF!!!!
I have played at a table with the Trooper in Jacksonville FL and he is really a good guy, plays good poker. I have also followed his You Tube videos from the beginning and feel I know him pretty well. He's not new to Vegas , he has lived there before. He's a grinder and I hope he catches a break and continues to build a good roll.
The 2+2 guys that dis him need to get a life.
Watched several of Trooper vlogs last night and I enjoyed them. He seems like a good dude just living life. I also must add that he does seem like a responsible fellow. Dude is still grinding the restaurant game too. I can appreciate his effort to not be a drain on society like most degens. Good luck to you Trooper

Those freakin nightmares. I just had one of those a couple nights ago. Thanks for watching the vlog!

Tyty... for the record though, I hate grinding the restaurant game sigh... Hopefully I won't be doing that forever!
Would be nice if it's possible to see more of the shady street/appartment complex where you live to see how shady it really is, although you already shot a short video about it
What happend when you lost 1k? Did you run very bad, just being unlucky in certain situations?
I find some of he's Vids lol funny, the area he's staying is really rough, it's only a couple blocks from Freemont so that's helps, but still rough indeed......I don't blame u for not using there laundry mat who the hell knows what's been in those things.

Ran kinda bad early but really played too long and got tired and frustrated. Not good, but at least I know what happened.
A few thoughts I have on stop losses (learned through experience):
1. If you are prone to tilt a stop loss is definitely a good idea because no one is a machine. Losses get to everyone and will effect your play.
2. Sometimes it can be hard to objectively evaluate your play and the play of other people at your table. This is especially true when playing with LAGs. Unless you are experienced, it can be difficult to tell the difference between a crazy spewtard and a good LAG. Having a stop loss prevents you from staying in a situation you think is +ev that is really -ev.
3. If you are in a great game and are just running bad, and are confident in your ability to objectively evaluate this, don't be wedded to a stop loss if you are losing. However, do get up and take a lunch or dinner break. Or do a lap around the casino. Or call a friend and talk about something none poker related. Then come back to the game and treat it like a brand new session.
4. A corollary to point number 1 is also be careful to monitor "winner's tilt." It is just as real as loser's tilt. When you are sitting on a $1000+ stack in a 1-2 game and everyone else has a fraction of your chips it is very easy to make marginal calls and plays. So if you are prone to winner's tilt, recognize that and fix it or it can effect your bankroll just as much as playing badly without a stop loss.
Trooper: I have now seen your Vegas vlog videos and can honestly say they are entertaining. Hopefully you can run good and continue to improve.
The last video was a bit long but I know some viewers do what more poker content so its a balancing act. In the future maybe you can include short videos of street performers and or hot chicks. 😏
IMO the biggest reason a stop loss makes sense is when you have a losing image at the table...it causes worse players to play much better against you and causes alot of changes to the dynamic in a game...your bluffs won't get through in obvious spots where they normally would ...etc...etc
If you can recognize tilt/tired/frustrated/hungry and quit for the day...thats generally enough ....but I would also include losing image in there
I read a book that was heavy on BRM one time...and it basically said....if you are leaving a good game because you are losing..when the game is good and you are still on your A or B game...you might as well get up and walk around your chair once...top off your stack and call that a new session.
Tilt
Tired
Hungry
Playing Bad (chasing...playing contrary to your normal style)
Losing image
If you can identify those five and quit...IMO there is no need for a monetary stop loss

Agree with everything. I've never heard it called winners tilt, but I am very aware of it. I'm sure I've done that in the past but I don't think I've done it in a long time. Thanks!

Thanks a lot! It was too long. I had actually talked about this in what would be a normal vlog but obviously I cut it all out. That's is why I decided to give it a separate title, like a series. I don't even know if I'll continue to do that, but it is what it is. The goal is to have people who play poker, as well as people who don't play poker, like the vlogs, so I appreciate your comments. Noted is the request for street performers and especially hot chicks! Don't wanna be too much of a creeper though haha

Remember in the video when I said I hope I didn't forget anything? Obviously the image thing was it! Okay, so I exaggerate a little. But I definitely agree and this is something that I should have included in the video! And to do something that I've become more more aware of recently.
