Going to Vegas for the first time ever today, should arrive in Vegas sometime around ~9PM.

I'm a college student so my bankroll is limited. I have $200 set aside for BJ/Craps (likely mostly craps) w my brothers and dad.

Also brought ~1,200 to play poker w (leaning towards cash games, but might play a few tournaments as well.)

Are there any WSOP events that are worth playing/trying to sattelite into?

Anyone got any recommendations in terms of where to gamble (esp craps)? My dad said he wants to go to the Golden Nugget, which I assume is fine for $5 min bet pit games because it is downtown. Food/entertainment suggestions are welcome as well.

I'm staying at an Airbnb halfway between downtown and the strip so I'm planning on playing at strip casinos like Aria and Bellagio as well as downtown.

Best way to get around I assume is just Uber?

Any info/recommendations you guys can give me about Vegas would be greatly appreciated. My parents are in their 50s and 60s and likely won't want to gamble as much as me and my brothers, so maybe also recommendations for other non-gambolly stuff too.

I'll try and keep this thread updated as the trip rolls along. My tentative plan is to go play some craps and/or BJ tonight w my family at the Golden Nugget, Binions or one of other downtown casinos, wake up early on friday and start playing poker then.

I don't think you'll find $5 craps or other pit games at the Golden Nugget, but they are plentiful elsewhere downtown (as low as $3 even). I can't remember the name of the casino (Golden Gate or Fremont, I think) GN will probably be $10 minimum bet, and possible more on Friday/Saturday nights.

GN does have that annoying $3 "Press the button!" craps machine, which I like, because I've never left the machine down. Turned $20 into $220 once (Bally's). Not sure how that game pays for itself.

Good to know, I'll check out Fremont downtown thx.

about to board my flight, just have to wait in the terminal a little longer. On the plus side I finally figured out how to post pics. Should be in Vegas by around 7:45pm.

My brother brought some booze with so we're going to do some shots midair.

If you're heading downtown, Main Street Station has 2 $5 craps tables 24/7. Coupling that with allowing 20x odds it's my fav place downtown to play dice though the crews aren't exactly exciting.

Non-gambling stuff: Pinball Hall of Fame, Mob Museum, Neon Museum, Red Rock Canyon...I dunno what else to suggest.

El Cortez single deck is the best game there is.
Spread small and you can drink for free.

The oldsters might enjoy the Mob Museum (I did, I'm old-ish). Good way to spend a couple of hours (longer if you want it) away from the casino, easy stroll from GN area. Enjoyed the food/beer at Pizza Rock right outside the Mob Museum, too.

More photos! I'll be at the Rio starting Monday, can't wait.

GL!
