Vegas in July...

I have only been to LV in May and October, both pleasant months. In May it got up to the mid 90's, but nothing too intolerable.

I like to walk a lot, is July too hot to even walk much of the strip? Trying to determine if going this month will be worth it, or if I should just hold off for cooler weather. Don't really care about the pool, more interested in whether 110 is even bearable to walk the strip in.

Thanks!

Bring a bottle of water or a cold beer/drink with you and you should be fine walking on the strip.

Re: Vegas in July...

It's ****ing hot in July.

This question is really person dependent because it is definitely 115 degrees in the desert.

KingBB is in LV all the time, so he's probably used to it, as much as you can be.

Re: Vegas in July...

It was 108 yesterday on my car thermometer. That's friggin hot.

If it's officially reported at 110, that's in the shade. On the Strip, in the sunshine, with all that concrete and pavement baking, it's closer to 130. Yes, you can probably walk the Strip in that, but you won't enjoy it. If you insist, be sure to wear a hat, the bigger the better.

Re: Vegas in July...

Are you okay with sweating profusely? If so, then sure, go walk the strip with the other slow movers.

Re: Vegas in July...

It all depends on whether you are used to this high temperature or not.. anyways you will be fine, if you sweat too much just drink alot of water and don't walk on the strip when the sun is up

Re: Vegas in July...

You can walk from Mandalay Bay to the Wynn and stay indoors about 80% of the time.

Indoors: Walk through Mandalay Bay and Luxor to Excalibur
Outdoors: Cross bridge to New York New York
Indoors: Walk through New York New York
Outdoors: Walk to Monte Carlo
Indoors: Walk through Monte Carlo to tram station; from tram station, you can tram or walk indoors to Bellagio (through Aria/Vdarra....I think)
Outdoors: Cross bridge to Caesars Palace
Indoors: Walk through Caesars and the Forum Shops; exit at the far north end near Mirage.
Outdoors: Walk to Mirage.
Indoors: Walk through Mirage to main valet exit. (this may be an unecessary diversion; could also tram to Treasure Island)
Outdoors: Cross street to Venetian.
Indoors: Walk through Venetian and Palazzo
Outdoors: Cross bridge to Wynn.

On the other side of the street, you can walk through a Paris-Bally's connection and stay inside while walking through the Flamingo and Harrah's without any serious diversion.

I have lived in Vegas for a while now. I can tell you that it is not worth it. Walking around in ~110 even with 10 gallons of water will make you feel ill after a while. If you like to walk you could walk around Caesers or Venetian inside.

Re: Vegas in July...

Really depends on you what your tolerance is etc but generally speaking walking from 2pm-8pm is pretty rough morning and after sunset is fine. You can walk in AC as they said but I like to be on strip too

Re: Vegas in July...

I don't mean to derail the thread, but I don't think my question warrants a thread of its own.

My birthday is in late November and since work gives us an extra day off during that week, I am planning to make a week-long trip to Vegas. After looking at my TR Offers and prices on Southwest, I can book this week-long trip for under $300. Compared to my trip in June, that's pretty dirt cheap.

My only concern is that I'd be going the week after Thanksgiving. I know the place never sleeps and I'll always be able to find a game, but will there be a decent amount of tourists to play against? If I wanted to play against a full table of rounders I'd just stay here. Any input is appreciated.

in b4 trolls from the 2013 thread (myself included, lol)

Re: Vegas in July...

It will be dead then. Vegas is dead from October until New Year's Eve save for:
Football weekends, Halloween, National Finals Rodeo, and Christmas vacationers (pretty dead on Christmas day though). The week after Thanksgiving is particularly dead. A lot of restaurants well be closed. Just my opinion.
