Hi, heading to Vegas on a stag from UK. There is 4 (or possibly 8) of us looking to play golf on Friday the 18th of October. Few quick questions:

Essential info: We're all decent but not great golfers (10hc average) and we'll be looking to gamble it up. We'll all be hungover, we won't have transport. We'll be staying on the strip - but not booked anywhere yet.

1) Can anyone make a few suggestions on where we should play?

2) Will we get round OK at that time of year if we take up one of the after 2 twilight deals?

Any tips or advice would be great thanks.

Shadow Creek, obv. Transportation included in the green fees.

Check GolfNow for deals. I assume rates are going up as the weather cools down.
FYI: October 18th in the USA falls on a Wednesday this year.

I've played:

Paiute. Really nice but outside of Vegas. Worth the drive IMO.

Primm Valley: Nice but farther outside of Vegas. Deals to be had. Convenient if you're driving in from California, but you're not.

Las Vegas National: Not bad, not the cheapest or most expensive, but very close to the strip w/o paying Wynn/Bali Hai prices. I liked seeing the Vegas skyline nearby when I was playing, so that was kind of unique.

Desert Pines: Haven't played there in a while but I remember it being a little pricey. Nice course but in a not nice part of town.

*Cascata: Go on a massive heater at the tables and play here and report back since I've never paid $400 for a round.

Locals will have much better current info than I do though.

Bali Hai is close, nice, fun course just south of Mandalay Bay on the Strip. Can usually get rates around $180 on Golf Now.

Use uber for transport. I played Paiute last month, 25min ride out there, but well worth it. Green fee was $100usd cart included and beers on the course were very reasonable.

That's cheap! It used to be a grand when Wynn owned it. And since cheapskate MGM removed the giraffes and whatnot, you don't have to worry about your ball hitting a giraffe-pie.

as you wont have any transport id go for the closest. (not counting the course at Wynn)

Bali Hai is a nice course at the end of the strip just past Mandalay Bay

+1 FWIW. this is a tourist course and I've heard nothing but good comments about the course and shipping in and renting clubs (if needed) here.

Check out Spanish Trail Country Club. They will permit outside play. It's close to the strip (about 10-15 minute car ride). At that time of year, a round with cart will probably be around $100, maybe less. At other times of the year, rounds are as low as $49.

I'll just hijack and ask a golf-related question here. Visiting with a friend before heading to Laughlin (just just play cheapo-golf) and wondering what would be some cheap options for two non-golfers (we only play golf while visiting US), need rental clubs but the course doesn't need to be anything special as for us anything pretty much is .
