Really good TR (and previous TRs) so far - keep it up!

Am I the only one that reads these TRs in Escobar's voice?

Thanks. In Medellin because my wife is from there and I work remotely for a company based in Costa Rica.

Day Nine - Tuesday June 26th

Back to square one. Played 2/5/10 PLO at Aria from 8am - 4pm and hardly won a hand. Called it a day when my flopped nut full house was beaten twice by other guys flopped trips with 2 over cards when he hit his over cards on both run outs.
-$2,000 for the session.

The Aria really is a pretty poker room but think we'll try a change of scenery for tomorrow.

Great read so far. Thanks for taking the time. Love Aria PLO, but I play the 1/2/5. Good luck.

Just curious. Why do you start your sessions at 8am? Is that just how your body clock works?

Great TR as usual Tony.

Boosted, if you make a FT and win one that is going until 8am you are going to be 40k up, I am sure that will make it easier for you!

Yes. I always used to be a night owl but now I'm happier getting up and going to bed earlier. Also If you're not in the game by mid morning the wait lists can be 2-3 hours long.

Day Ten - Wednesday June 27th

Tried a change of scenery today and went to the Wynn/Encore as I'd noticed they had been having some PLO games running.

Different location but same result. Very card dead and couldn't get any mojo going. -$1,500 for the session.

I surrender.

Supper from the Vdara cafe back at the hotel.

Grilled cheese and tomato soup. Was pretty good. Don't know what the soup had in it but it was a bit spicy.

I was sucked out on so many times at the Encore/Wynn PLO that I basically stopped playing PLO my last trip. Good thing I switched to their 2/5 NLHE, because that was very profitable.

Day Eleven - Thursday June 28th

Last tournament of the trip - #57 $2,500 Omaha8/Stud8 - and last chance to salvage something from the trip. I cashed in this tournament in 2014 so good vibes going in.

Table of death. Zero recreational players. Table includes Chip Jett, Brock Parker, Frank Kassela and a couple of other pros who I don't know the name, oh yes and the guy next to me tells me he won the $1k PLO bracelet a couple of weeks ago.

Undeterred by the tough table we tip toe along picking up a bet here and there and trying to save bets when we are behind. we build our stack and eventually knock out Chip Jett only to see him replaced at the table by Barry Greenstein.

On the last break of the night we were sitting pretty on just shy of 50k.

Unfortunately we had a nightmare level 9 and lost half our stack without doing anything wrong. Our opponents caught perfect while we caught bricks in Stud and was so far ahead in an Omaha hand until our opponent caught a gutshot and made the wheel to scoop.

Recovered a little in the last level to bag 38k which is slightly below average going back to 1,500-3,000 tomorrow.

Late supper back at the hotel. Rigatoni Bolognese.

2pm re-start tomorrow.

PLO obviously a hugely swingy game at times.

Good luck in the tourney.

(I was there from June 19 for a week - enjoyed the heat )

Day Twelve - Friday June 29th

Unfortunately busted short of the money in the tournament. Didn't have a single playable Omaha hand and kept catching bricks in Stud. One example was I started 567 all diamonds and caught J diamonds on 4th street but then bricked out 975 for two pair that was no good. It was a very aggressive table with lots of 3 and 4 betting. If we could have caught a hand could have run it up but wasn't to be.

Spent the rest of the day binge watching Netflix in the room. Started watching a show called Peaky Blinders which I've been meaning to get to for a while and I wasn't disappointed. Would recommend to anyone that hasn't seen it. It's about a family of gangsters from Birmingham, England and is set just after the first world war.

Day Thirteen - Saturday July 1st

No poker today. Day of R+R. Met up with a good friend from Austria who was in town. We hung out by the pool at Aria in the afternoon then had dinner at Mon Ami Gabi at Paris. This is a great spot. The food is good but not too expensive and its a great place to people watch and give a good view of the fountains at Bellagio also.

Steak frites again, but was waaaaaay better than Bardot at Aria. This is the signature steak at Mon Ami Gabi - The Filet Mignon Merlot with a butter and red wine reduction. Was really good.

Great location and view.

Not too expensive as far as Vegas goes. Of course back home in Medellin I could eat for two weeks for that!

After dinner we crossed the street to get a better view of the fountains at Bellagio.

Then we walked down the stip headed for NYNY but stopped in at the sportsbook at Aria to watch the fight.

What a joke. Pacman got robbed. One judge scored it 117 - 111. WTF fight was he watching???

Finished the night off in the Bar at Times Square in NYNY. (Had a $50 drinks credit from myvegas which we put to good use.

I like a good piano bar and the place was packed with a good atmosphere. The pianists kept the crowd happy with the usual favorites; Piano Man, Don't Stop Believin', Sweet Caroline, Hey Jude etc. A good time was had.

Day Fourteen - Sunday July 2nd

Last day. Let's see if we can end with a win. Promising start:

But with some Penn & Teller-esqe magic the poker gods and I manage to make this stack disappear.

Dusted 2/3 of it off with middle set against top set. Top set guy was the most aggro at the table and had been betting everything heavy. He just happened to have the goods against me. :-(

And the last of it went in with double aces suited with an overpair and nut flush draw on a 10-6-4 flop. Someone's two pair filled up on top and on bottom I hit the nut flush so thought I had half, but no, someone had hit the straight flush. Sums up my trip. No more for me. -$1,000 after 7 hours.

So bad trip results wise this time and will be happy to get home on the 06:15 flight in the morning.

Thanks everyone for reading along. That's all folks!
