Snap, great read. Wife and I do Vegas 1x year and during the day I grind while she does the pool. It works out ok. Wish I played at night but we gamble after dinner and it makes up for it.

Let me know where you work in NYC. I come up there every other week for work in the fall and winter.

Based on this response and some of your various posts, we can concur that you, rivermen, are:
1) a virgin
2) don't have a gf or wife

As for OP, my advice as a married, working man who loves to degen pit games and poker
1) get rid of the gf before you go down the rabbit hole called marriage....you marry this chick and you will get no run on poker tables more than 1 hr before you get the infamous, "are you almost done playing" or "can't you cash out yor chips now" texts when you are big-stack semi-deep or halfway thru a mtt.
2) next time you have to take her to Vegas, fly her sister or best girlfriend out with you to keep her company so you can get your degen-ing in without having thoughts of herfuture complaints ringing in the back of your head as you are c/r the pot with a wrap and straight-flush draw in a 3-way pot playing PLO. My wife hates gambling and hates it even more when it takes "our time together"( Jesus, I'm having heart palpitations and a sudden-onset migraine just thinking about those dreaded words coming out of my wife's mouth), and no matter how much money I give her to "buy" myself more degen-ing time(sick brag: that I reg beat small-to-mid stacks NL while facing endless double-rake vs. casino and wife), she will never be fully "cool" about me degen-ing the pokah. It's a slippery slope my friend-you had better pull the zip-cord on that parachute before its too late. GL!!!!!

beaverslayer - thanks for the info. I was thinking about taking her friend to vegas with us too (gorgeous stripper) but timing was bad. Everything is pretty good with us tho. I kinda make it seem worse than it is. In NYC I venture out and play 2-3 times a week and she doesnt say a word (as she knows it makes us money). But on vacation when i play she kinda nags. But as for me acting crazy. Im a bartender and a night owl...I do alot of stuff i shouldnt even mention in this thread.
