Non baller 30+ year old teacher headed to Vegas with some buddies to play poker, degen in the pits a little (mostly dice), sports bet, eat food (high end and low end), and most importantly drink a lot and have as much fun as possible! Also, may pay a visit to the rippers (my term for strippers)

Long Version:
About Me ~ As you all can see by the picture of my sweet ass 04 Impala, I am a 100%, grade A certified non-baller! I'm a physical education teacher and a high school football coach, most people know it's pretty hard to reach baller status in the teaching profession, but I still intend to have a blast on this trip and hopefully turn a profit (unlikely as hell, once in many trips). This will be somewhere in the neighborhood of a dozen trips I’ve taken strictly with the boys and strictly to gamble, party, drink, etc. and I’m looking forward to this one more than any other.

Who and Where ~ I'm staying with one of my best friends in a comped room at Harrahs (heard it's pretty lame). Originally there was going to be 4 of us, but one had to bail for $$$ reasons and the other is staying with another friend at the Rio. There is about 10-15 of us all going from the same place, but staying all over Vegas, so I'm not sure when or if the group will meet up (except the colossus, most of us are playing it).

Poker ~ Playing the colossus at the WSOP. Hoping to start flight B on Friday night and plan to fire a second bullet Saturday night if necessary (most likely). Plan on playing the Aria dailies as well. Most of the time I plan on playing 1/2, 1/3 & 2/5 mostly at the V and Aria. I'm going to try to ladder up to 5/10 with just one $300 buy-in, so good luck on that. While I'm playing cash, I totally intend to order atleast one drink from every cocktail waitress that offers at my table. I will be drinking heavily and pretty talkative the majority of my cash sessions, I'm on vacation damn it! I may or may not get any detailed hand histories posted due to my intoxication level as well as I could care less about stat talk in this forum (this could change if I post a history and ask for advice, lol).

Degen ~ I absolutely love throwing dice, so I can guarantee there will be some craps in this TR. As for other degen, I plan on playing a little pai gow, some roulette and probably some VP to try to score some comped drinks for pregame. I was really looking forward to betting some NBA, but I think both series will be over before I arrive, so that’s pretty weak, but I’m sure I’ll throw in some terrible baseball and maybe hockey bets to make the days just a little more interesting.

Food ~ The top thing on my food to do list is the Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars. I ate there a couple years ago and it was amazing. At the time, one of the people in our group was diamond so we didn’t have to wait at all, but with the wait this time I’m not sure if anyone will join me, but it’s good enough to ditch somebody and go solo. I know they have some sort of kiosk thing, but heard the wait can still be brutal. Ate at CUT last year and it was one of the top 3 meals I have ever had. $550+ bill for 3 with tip, so I’m thinking something just below that, or atleast order less food and drink at another similar joint. Earl of Sandwich will be a definite atleast once, but more than likely 2+.

TR Status ~ I am really going to try to keep this as semi live as possible, but we all know how Vegas has the ability to consume these reports (and souls) from the jump. I’m hoping that won’t happen with mine, but as stated in the title, “no promises”. Worst case scenario, when I get home, I should have plenty of pictures and can give somewhat of a brief summary.

Other ~ I was actually born in Vegas as Nellis was my dad’s first base and my mom is from there. My mom’s side of the family still resides there and I have a bunch of cousins who will be down to party, so I’m looking forward to tearing the strip up with some of them one of the nights as well.

Question ~ Any of you Vegas vets know of a good quiet place with free wifi that would be good to skype with a wife and daughter back home (doubtful, lol)? I know the rooms have wifi, but it’s been sketchy when I’ve tried in the past. If not, I can just gobble up some data cause you married dudes know it’s all about the happy wife, happy life.

Flight leaves at about 1:15 central time. Hour and a half trip to Minneapolis where I'll be hanging out for 3 hours until the Vegas leg. 3 hours at MSP can be pretty deadly is what I'm afraid of. Last time I had that kind of layover there I think I drank about 7 tall Sam Adams and had to fly to Nashville pretty much a wreck and just wasted that night there. Since I'm not solo, I hope I can pace myself a little more.

Made it to MSP. Leg one complete.

Grabbed some food at "Rock Bottom" in the airport. Pretty decent but couldn't finish it all. Few beers deep, but looks like we have an hour to kill before we can board the last leg to the city of dreams. Still 5 hours, damn! Headed to the arcade. Big kid at heart.

Definitely gotta get a greyhound, this trip. I see they are part of the lore of 2+2 and I still haven't tried one. First order at the tables! Probably with a jag bomb, one isn't enough for night one.

Rock Bottom's not bad. Their downtown location is better food wise than their airport location. Did you come in from Michigan?

Boom! We have arrived. Picture pretty much suck but whatever. Pilot just dropped the plane on the runway not giving a ****! But like someone once said "there's no such thing as a bad landing" haha. Off to Harrahs for checking and then I think the V is in the plans for some pokerz. Might have to watch the last 30 minutes of Kingman first, awesome movie so far.

I thought it was "any landing you can walk away from is a good landing."
