So Wednesday night I was playing at Aria. At some point I saw a tweet that Andrew and Brad were going to have a 2/5 game on Thursday. That was the perfect opportunity as that's my last night in Vegas.

Fast forward about 24 hours. The game was held at the Mirage. At the time I signed up for the 2/5 there was a list. Andrew and Brad were playing at separate tables. Those were both main games. I got seated at a must move game.

The game I was in had some straddles and a lot of action going on resulting in some deep stacks. There were some tough players at that table as well.

Hand 21 - 2/5 Mirage

There's an early open to 15, a call and I call with JTo on the button. We see a flop 4 ways.

Flop T43 (pot ~60)
The preflop aggressor bets 30, the next player calls, I call. We're now three ways.

Turn J (pot 150)
Preflop raiser checks, player bets 80, I call, Preflop raiser shoves for 260(?), player calls all-in for 200(?). I think someone must have a set here and I fold.

"Player" ended up showing AJ and the preflop raiser mucked.

Hand 22

Encouraged by the action player I decide to straddle one time (to 10).
An active player opens to 35 and both blinds call. I wake up with A K in the straddle. I make it 125 which is small actually. Only the BB calls.

Flop A Q T (pot 320)
BB checks, I bet 150, BB folds

Hand 23

UTG limps, another two players limp and I complete KTo in the SB. BB checks and we are 5 ways.

Flop AQJ two-tone (pot 25)
Wow, this is kind of second chance for hand 19!
I lead for 20 and only UTG calls.

Turn Q (pot 65)
I continue betting for 40, UTG raises to 80, I make it 200 to charge a Q. He folds though.

At this point I fear that I'm not going to get to sit at one of the main games with one of the vloggers as not a lot of players are getting up from those games.

Hand 21,

Pre, if you're deep and comfortable, calling is ok but otherwise I'd just fold.
Flop fine
Turn, yes its a rather strong line but I think if you do the calculations you're just getting incredible odds on a call, even if you discount live poker spazz.

Hand 22,

Pre definitely make it bigger, we really don't mind if we get a fold (although obviously we don't mind a call either), so pumping it up. Try and size it so you can shove basically any flop if you're 100BB effective or less.
Flop, I prefer a slightly smaller bet but otherwise fine.

I open 22 to 20 in early/mid position and get three callers.

Flop Qx5x2 (pot 80)
I cbet 50 and get two callers

Turn 5 (pot 230)
I bet 120 and get one caller (who has position on me)

River T (pot 470)
I bet 200, villain calls and mucks after seeing my hand.

Hand 25

There is a blind raise to 25 from UTG, a fold and a call. I make it 100 with A K (stack 1500). Ryan on my immediate left calls and the caller on my immediate right calls.

Flop K 2 8 (pot 330)
X, I bet 160, Ryan raises to 330, the other guy folds, I call.

Turn 9 (pot 990)
Check, check

River T
I think about how much to bet and eventually make it 400 leaving myself 600-something behind. Ryan calls and we ship a very nice pot!


That was one of the last hands we played because we were all headed to the bar.



We hung out at the bar. I had a great time talking to some of the players and vloggers. Really nice people.

It was already at the point that I had to pull an all-nighter. No regrets though, last moments in Vegas! Went to the apartment, showered, grabbed my stuff and headed to the airport at like 5:30.

Overall I had a great time and will definitely be coming back. Cash game result overall +$950, mainly because of that last hand, lol.

If the vlogs talk about something interesting related to the game I'll post it here. I'll probably post some closing thoughts as well. In Seattle at the moment having a 10 hour flight ahead of me, lol.

I promised I would get back about two things (neighborhood + closing thoughts). Very late reply, but ok.

The neighborhood. I stayed right behind the stratosphere. Kinda scary neighborhood, although very quiet. Probably gonna stay on mid strip next time.

The games are definitely softer than in the Netherlands. More limpers, less good regs, less resistance.

Ended up about break even (cash game and tournament results cancelled out).
I did appear in the vlogs, but no hands with me or other interesting stuff to share unfortunately.
