Stupid question about the trick Stupid question about the trick

I am going on Sunday - King, want to handle my business at Ceasars? Finding rates online for like 75 bucks a night for bottom rung rooms but would love a deluxe (or more). I think I'm going to be good since it's mid-week and off-season.

Thoughts?

Booked a room for 4 nights w/ the g/f for our anniversary in early January @ Aria. Never stayed there before, wondering if the upgrade is possible there for a weekday stay. Fwiw, I booked the hotel and airfare thru Allegiant together as a package. Is it not possible to upgrade rooms that way? Should I cancel maybe and try to stay somewhere like Caesars where they could upgrade to a better room possibly? Used to live in Vegas and only went to Aria once after I moved back to Oregon and wanted to see the rooms, and basically lived in Caesars poker room, so i've spent my fair share of time there. Airfare is cheap thru Allegiant on weekdays, and room rates came to about 500 for 4 nights. Could I get something better @ Caesars or B w/ possible upgrade for our anniv?

Everything I've heard about Aria leans towards it being a pain in the ass to get the upgrade.

I'm actually going to try to grab the poker rate at the V this week, and use the 20 dollar trick to get the resort fees waived. Prima Balla Suite for 119/night? Yes please.

I'm flying in tomorrow to Aria as well and will try to upgrade, but it is a newer hotel with new management and they seem more strict on upgrades but I'll post a TR in 2-3 days letting you guys know how it went.

And I've done this trick about 6 times and been 6-6 (bellagio/Venetian/palazzo)

I'm going to try this at IP today to see if I can get a luv tube.

I was at the Venetian a couple weeks ago and we had booked online for three nights but I guess when you do that it views your reservation as three separate nights. As we did not obviously play poker getting in late the first night, we had to go talk to them about what was up (obviously at the end we had the total required number of hours so we rec'd the poker rate no problem) but we were helped by a heavyset african american lady named Taylr (no o) who was about as helpful as humanly possible. She was very patient with us and extremely nice, and halfway through us trying to figure out what was going on we asked her if she accepted gratuity and handed her a $10 to which she smiled, said ty, and instantly took off resort fees for all three nights for us, so I'm sure you will get it taken off. Gonna be heading up again tomorrow but friend's dad booked her a piazza suite for her 21st so I don't think any upgrades will be necessary this time around.

Going to the Wynn for the first time for the Superbowl.

From scanning the thread, it sounds like the Wynn is hit or miss.
Would like to try the trick, I have a hard time wrappping my head around the concept that $20 will get you the same upgrade as $50 or $100.

Was thinking of going with a $50 tip asking for an upgrade to a suite - or am I setting $30 on fire.

Anyone with specific Wynn experience and am I stupid for tipping $50 instead of $20??

anyone had any luck at Planet Hollywood? I'm going next week, Mon-Wed, and it's dead, I play less than $500 a year on my Harrahs card and was comped for 3 nights. Do you think playing on the dead hotel angle would do anything? Something like "If the hotel isn't too busy would there be any chance of a complimentary upgrade?" While either handing them the sandwhich or just flat out saying I'll take care of you if there is?

my buddy basically tries this everytime. It works everytime. He is a Platinum holder but we basically get $800/night suite everytime for comps.

Checked in 2+2er Medonkyou at Mirage today, I executed the $20 trick perfectly, got him a nice view and upgraded room with a big bathroom and whirlpool tub.

I have had 100% success at PH. The check in people are not allowed to accept tips to give out free upgrades but if you word it as a tip for good service you should have no problem. No need to sandwich the 20 between CC and license. Just tell them you have no problem taking care of them, read my tips above.

Every room in PH is the same until you get to panorama suites. I guess if you're not local you care which way it faces, but I'm oblivious to that stuff. Some have slightly more sq footage but it's not functional sq footage if that makes any sense.

To be clear though, that is not to say that you can't get upgraded to a panorama or boulevard suite via the 20 dollar trick. Just that any upgrade below that is not anything to write home about.

Hey sorry to potentially repost this as there was no reviews on the twenty dollar trick website. I'm heading to the Rio in Feb and wanted to know if anyone has had any success with the 20 dollar trick here and if so what kind of upgrades should I ask for. Thanks.

North Tower, Strip View, Diamond level, here's a pic I took the other day. The Blonde on the bed with the big tits doesn't usually come with the room.

Ask for the upgrade and then give the tip based on their level of upgrade and effort/willingness to help. Obviously let them know you are willing to tip for thier efforts.

I've been in ballys 3 times in the last year and never been in a room different than that. There is no HDTV in those rooms so if thats balla for ballys that is extremely lame.

I never said it was balla. It's a North Tower Diamond floor room. Have you been in the South Tower?

Not all the rooms at Bally's are this big and most of them do not have the sitting area, couch and table.

I guess I haven't been in the south tower. To be fair, you did post the pic in response to the question, "what should i ask for? I want balla." I don't mean to say that isn't a better room than most will get. Because I really have no idea. When I ask what is different about diamond floors when they say hold on, lemme look for a diamond floor, I usually get the response that a coffee maker is the difference. They don't look because I tip for upgrades, I never have. When I don't have people in town I don't care about room type. When I do have people in town I book the type they want through my host.

Hello All (it's my first post)
With other 9 friends we are going to Planet Hollywood for the first time for the Superbowl.
We booked 4 Hip hop rooms.
with your experience which kind upgrate we can get?
For us should be find to get just a strip view and one suite for the honor of this trip. Is possible to get more or this is to much already?

We are ten of us so we don't care tip 10 or 20$ each to have some upgrade. (we stay for 5 nights)
Is our first time in Vegas so we are totaly newby.
Any advices are really welcome.
Thaks.
