used the 20 trick at the cosmo. Got me into the eastern tower and 2 free roll away beds. Said if I wanted the bellagio fountain view would have to wait til 4 ( I was there at 7 am) So overall it worked

did not try the 20 dollar trick. but we checked in late at 12 am when our flight came in, and i guess got upgraded because there were no standard rooms left. so ended up with a south tower ballys room with king bed, the whirlpool tub seprate shower and 2 sinks and toilets deal, also had 2 couches. so i tried same thing at harrahs, did not check in untill right before midnight, had a classic room booked, ended up in a new renovated one. even had a TV in the bathroom lol.

I just got back and had the pool/freeway/Panorama Towers view. I actually like staring out the window at the freeway traffic. I'd rather see that than the 7-Eleven across the strip.

your odds are bad, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't try. Follow the advice ITT and see what they will do. You might strike lucky, but you almost certainly won't. Worst case is "we can't help you" so it doesn't take a lot of prep to "prepare for the worst"

Someone else would have to supply the night life info..

Ask for a suite, they've got all kinds of them. It has worked for me in the past, got bumped up to what is essentially a junior version of their corner suite (which is still much nicer than a regular room). But that was midweek in December, so your odds are low. And DO NOT pay extra for a view, there's no view worth paying for.

fo sho....well take a look at that....also saw venetian has a poker player suite for like 175 a pretty good deal it seems as long as you log a few hours pokering
anyone know anything about these venetian suites?
