You're picking a good time of year to go out. I went in mid-April last year and had no problem walking a lot by staying hydrated.

Re: Struck in a never ending rut flying to Vegas with net worth to make it happen
I created an account after reading this posting. FWIW, I tried to do this a long time ago. I thought that I could make it by being super nitty and playing good forever.
This is my story... I started off as a donkey playing low stakes hold'em games at the local casino. I was so terrible that I managed to lose about $8000 playing $2-$4, $3-$6, and $4-$8 stakes over the course of ten months.
Suddenly, the light came on and I won $45,000 straight, first by winning at $4-$8 and moving up to as high as $80-$160. At every turn, poker became "easy" to me. I would know when to three-bet with King High and when to lay down top-top. I was running so well that I thought I could take my $45,000 and become a professional poker player. For a while, things were great. I didn't have any real responsibilities, but I had liquid cash to do whatever I pleased. I'd book a $2000 win and feel like life could not be better.
What I did not know was what would happen when I would run bad. For months, I would lose. I did not book a winner for six weeks. When I did win, it was small. It was like the light had turned off. Top-top was never good when I bet, bottom set was trumped by middle set, 2nd nut flushes were being four flushed by a naked ace. Soon enough, the cutie pies I was dating stopped because I couldn't afford to take them to the hottest clubs/restaurants around town.
I played lower, even though my ego couldn't stand grinding with undesirables playing $8-$16, then $4-$8..... Soon, after I paid more bills, I was broke. I could have borrowed. I could have scraped together $20K given my history as a formerly winning player. But, what was the point? I became increasingly depressed, shut-in, and isolated. I wanted to end it all.
After that episode, I vowed that I'd never try a career at playing poker again. I got a job. I've moved myself up in my profession to where I earn a decent living and have good credit. Yet, if I kept trying to live that dream that lead so many to ruin, it would have been disaster. I did not get back into playing poker until I could afford to lose my buy-in. That took a long while.
I'm not a great player and maybe have even dusted off some cash to some of you reading this now. I enjoy playing mid-stakes mixed games and visit LV 2-3 times a year. For me, Poker is now fun. I lose more than I win, but contain my losses with realistic stopping points.
Why do I post this story? Hopefully the OP is reading this before his upcoming trip to LV next week.... my advice: stay in Kansas City! You may currently be in a dead-end job. The economy is improving. More jobs will emerge. More construction will happen. Keep fighting. Save your money and improve your credit so that you can afford reliable transportation. Use poker to supplement your income and keep it fun!
Every poker player has been broke. No matter how skilled they may be, swings get to everybody at every level.

Guys you need to give Codizzle some information that will help him... like the location of the Vegas plasma bank.

The double-reflection of your left hand in the mirror scared me! At first glance I thought it was something else.
