I was in the Orleans when someone hit the BBJ.

Waiting for a seat.

No room share for moi.

How does the room share work? I mean, if the BBJ hits for holdem, do you have to be seated at a holdem table? Or any cash game?

The one time I received a room share BBJ payout (at the Red Rock), anyone in a hand in any cash game received a share. what sucked is that the room share was for all Stations properties so the room share payout was spread really thin.

After the bbj goes off, a 5/10 game magically appears.... true story.

Even that has grey areas. What if a table is in between hands so nobody has a hand, but one person has left the table? Conversely, what if someone just came back and threw the dealer the missed blinds button, but had not received a hand?

At the Orleans there is a table share (anyone at the same table gets a table share) AND a room share (anyone in the same TYPE of game gets a room share). So if you are at the table you get 2 payments.

If you miss the blinds you get nothing, everyone else gets paid, pretty simple.

Both the NLH and Omaha bad beats hit yesterday. Same dealer for both hands, too.

Source: Friend is a dealer in that room (not the one for the BBJ)

Was playing at the Orleans about 20 years ago during one of those times when all the tables were at capacity because the Jackpot was something like $25-$30k. Had to catch the red eye home in a few hours and thought I'd better get something to eat. Went to get a bagel and came right back, missing a jackpot hand by a few minutes. That bagel cost me about $250.

I always wondered if it was a worse beat to have been away when the jackpot was hit, or have been there but had to leave for my flight before getting paid--as nobody had been paid when I actually left. The $250 probably wasn't worth missing my flight, even back then.

That's another thing... payouts take FOREVER to be handed out. They have to check the film, get the 1099's ready, organize the cheques... it's a whole deal.

Your probably looking at hour to an hour and a half minimum.

How much was it for

There shouldn't be 1099's for the room share because the payment is like $150. But yes, it does take a good long time. In the interim, I got seated, played for awhile, and left before the room share got paid.
