Up 650 or so tonight. I am about to call it a night. I just had one of those dream hands. I turn the nut flush and the river puts 4 to a straight on the board. I bet out 20 bc that's all I thought anyone might call. Two people go all in before it gets back to me and I win a monster pot.

I took yesterday off for some sexy time with my girl and put in 8 hours today for 125. I should have quit when I was up 300. If only I was psychic and figured i would have a bunch of 2nd best hands. The biggest hand was early on when my JJ held up against a super lag who kept donk betting into me on a 9 high board. I am definitely playing better as of late. I am just being patient and value betting when I get hands.

Lady luck is nice.

When's your house sitting stint end?

How's the commuting on the bus thing going? Or are you biking? no AA meetings, I would guess.

Re: Should I stay or should I go?

Lady Luck is nice. I think it helps to balance my mind. The commuting on the bus thing blows. It is a 20 minute bike ride to catch the flamingo bus. On the plus side I am getting in better shape but it is still a major time sink. It is worse on the way home since the bus does not run as often late at night. It takes at least an hour to get home after leaving the Bellagio at midnight, or more if I don't time the bus right. The bus seems to stop at every spot on Flamingo so it is pretty lame when you just want to get home and sleep. It is all motivation for me to get my **** together. I have never been to an AA meeting so it is hard for me to get this started. I did notice a place on Nellis that seems easy to get to. Looks like 10 minutes by bike and then I catch the bus. On the plus side I think the AC gets fixed finally this week!

Noticed this on the way home the other day.

Played the mirage quarterly free roll. I don't play there that often but had 32 hours to qualify. I got 50 bucks for showing up and took the 10 dollar add on. Survived to the final 60 to get another 200 today. I am shortstacked but so is everyone else.

Re: Should I stay or should I go?

Not much new to report lately. I played for an hour and a half at a table last night while my girl was listening the Sin City Sinners (I have heard them alot) at the Zebra Lounge at the Palazzo. I was bummed that I flopped a flush and lost to a higher flush when I picked up a a queen high straight flush vs a k high flush to put myself ahead 30 bucks for the night. Apparently the table had been doing shots for a while before I got there and I obliged by making them do a shot of Patron. A floor person came over and told us to quiet down. I had only had one beverage in me at this point and did not think anyone was out of line. We are in Vegas right? I Don't think i had seen a scolding like that when I had felt it was so unneccessary before. I racked up and went home shortly after the straight flush. The floor kinda killed my vibe and probably the rest of the tables too. If fish (I rarely drink at the table) want to drink let them drink as long as they are not being abusive or holding up the game. If I wanted quiet time I would stay at home and play online poker.

Played some 1/3 plo tonight at Aria. I finished up ~300. I would have won more if I knew some more theory. I turned a monster draw and should have got my money all in according to a few people at the table.

Re: Should I stay or should I go?

I think my life is getting into a good balance. My holiday weekend was a blur. Sure I did not get enough sleep, but I ran good at poker and generally had a good time. I had a Plus 390 session at the Mirage over 2 hours and ate using comps at BLT with my girlfriend. Nothing earth shattering regarding strat here. I flopped a couple sets and people shoved into me. They held up. I then lost like 40 bucks at 1/3 at Aria and then like 60 bucks at 1/3 PLO.

On Saturday I went and watched the Michigan-Alabama game at the Inn Zone on Rainbow/95 based on the advice of a Poker dealer from Harrah's. I did not get there earlier enough to get one of the better seats but found a seat at the Bar. The beers were only 3 bucks but I think I am still Butt-Hurt from that game. Michigan was clearly not ready for that game against IMO the best team in football. Does Alabama lose a game this year? I then stopped in at ARIA and kept drinking. I lost 40 bucks at 1/3 over a couple hours. We left ARIA and then got pulled over immediately once we got onto Harmon by a couple cops on horses. Apparently my girl did not stop completely at the stop sign there. She was expecting a ticket but I was like have faith. A few minutes later she gets only a warning and we are off to Boulder Station to see the Sin City Sinners. I keep drinking but the pain of the game is still there.

Sunday was a day of leisure and a mild hangover. I had my 2nd FF draft of the weekend early due to playing with friends on the East coast. I was drafting 2nd. I ended up with Ray Rice and a decent team even though it is a pretty deep 14 team league. I watched Premium Rush a decent movie if you have the time.

Monday I went out to breakfast with her family at fiesta station and gorged on cheap buffet food. We took a nap and then it was off to Aria. I made 369 over two hours again flopping good hands that held up. Set vs two pair. Straight on Turn vs two pair. We then left and saw the Sinners again at Hard Rock. What I like about this band is that there are a ton of guests from other bands that play with them. I missed it when they had Sammy Hagar singing with them but oh well. Last night they had a guy named Ron Keel singing a few songs and he was pretty good. I also experienced riding my bike through like 10 inches of water on friday. Cabana from DI to Flamingo was flooded. That was fun. Times are good and I don't plan on leaving this town for awhile.

Re: Should I stay or should I go?

I just can't believe a John L Smith team will beat Bama. I recall the glorious years when he coached MSU and also when Saban was there as well. I wish John L Smith still coached Sparty instead of Dantonio.

Are you gone from Vegas? What was your final total? Would you do it again? What did you learn?

I am still in Vegas. I have not been playing much poker lately. I have been watching football and seeing shows on weekends . I have been hanging out mainly with my gf and working. I did play Monday and Tuesday for a few hours but otherwise not much in last few months since football started. I have traveled to California and this weekend am going to Ann Arbor for some fun with my roommate from college. He has season tickets and i go to a game every year. The gf is hell on the poker bankroll though. I hope to balance things out going forward. I am happy with life even if i have not accomplished all my goals yet.

What have i learned? I can't beat 1/2 enough to beat out my job plus benefits. I am beating it for about 11 per hour. Even i was beating it for 20 per hour its not enough. I hope to slowly build roll up but i am in no hurry. I would do this again in a heartbeat.
