Should I stay or should I go?

The other day I got a phone call with an offer to house sit for my Cousin for 5 months or so until he gets back to Vegas, rent free. For most normal people this is a no brainer, however I am not normal. My situation currently is ok, but not ideal as I am getting far to old. I work at home (Parents of course) and make somewhere around 45k every year for a software company doing tech support. Among my many talents, driving (when combined with drinking) has not been one of them and I currently have no drivers license and have not had one for a while. Put it this way, I have had a 10 year work history between two jobs, with no problems, without a license.

The house is on the outskirts of town on the east side, think near Sam's town and appears to be near several bus lines. Am I stupid for doing this? I think of it as a way for me to test whether I am any good at poker. I won't be quitting my job, but will probably be able for the first time in my life to play poker 3+ days a week for a few months. I have been out to Vegas a few times in the past and have accomplished a WSOP 1k event cash and have cashed in a Deepstack so I am not totally without skill.

I am still working out logistics (Need Broadband and Phone hooked up). I also would still have some expenses. For example I would probably be still paying cable bill for my Parents and my Cell. I would be coming out to Vegas with about a 3k roll+ Money in the bank. Obviously I need to take care of the driving situation but I feel this is too good to pass up.

Should I take the risk or should I continue to live my boring safe life? If this works out maybe I keep living here, although I would have to find some place closer.

See, I knew my idea would catch on quick. Plus these renters would split cab fare with you to the strip. FK the bus system

Haha, thats the type of response I was looking for!

@BenTaylor I have gone in July last year for a weekend, as well as spent part of the last 2 June's. It was definitely hot, but I at least there was no humidity.
It was noted that no matter how much water I was drinking that I felt dehydrated.

I run bad. If anyone is guaranteed to get pulled over for some minor offense it is me. The obstacle for me is Michigan's retarded DUI rules. I admit I was an idiot back when I got myself in trouble. Every attorney I have talked to in MI says to have 100 AA meetings under my belt before applying. I admit I am lazy. I have yet to force myself to go to AA meetings. The truth is I just need to suck it up and go to a couple of meetings a week for a year and get it over with. I have become comfortable living without it and maybe this little excursion will give me some motivation.
