Hi Guys,

Got some good feedback in my other thread about "Healthy Food" mixed with some controversy... good times.

I also plan to do some shooting while in LV. Do you guys have any recommendations for cost effective ranges? Some of the ritzy places on the strip seem pretty expensive.

I really just want to shoot AK, AR15 or M4 and maybe some pistols and sub-machine guns.

I should add I have zero shooting experience. Just curious if there are more reasonably priced places off strip that come with good reviews.

Cheers.

"Cost effective range" and Vegas is an oxymoron. Full auto isn't cheap anywhere.

Never been to this place, but I have seen the Humvees picking up customers, and heard it was fun: https://www.battlefieldvegas.com/

They have packages set up where you go through 4 or 5 or 6 guns according to a theme. I think they will also do outdoor shoots, which would be infinitely more fun than indoors, but that's more suited to groups because it will be much more expensive.

They even have a mini-gun that costs $200 for 100 rounds. It fires ~4000 rounds a minute, so you can do the math on how much fun per second it costs.

Whatever you choose, budget for about twice that amount because once you fire a magazine, you'll want to do another one, or two, or three. It's like crack. Well, I've never used crack, but I do have friends with machine guns and I would imagine it's similarly addictive.

Was in town last weekend, took the GF here, they have a deal on Groupon for like $40 to shoot an M4 and 25 rounds. Its another $15 for 25 more rounds.

3084 highland 89103 and 2771 industrial 89103... both great places with 2771 industrial having a state of the art collection of firearms, but it's also very expensive. They also have a great collection of tanks troop carriers and helicopters and will come pick you up in a humvee from your hotel.

2771 industrial is directly behind circus circus and 3084 highland is next to welderup hotrod custom car builder and rollin smoke BBQ which is a bit further of a walk... but doable.

I took my wife to Battlefield Vegas for her first rifle shooting experience a few years back via Groupon for about $70 IIRC. She got to shoot 30 rounds with an M4, 25 or 30 rounds with an Uzi and 16 rounds with a Glock 17 or 19--can't remember which. The M4 and Uzi were both full-auto and the M4 was outfitted with an Aimpoint optic.

The instructor she had was ex-military, and it looked like all their instructors were from what I saw in my lone visit. He was very attentive and preached safety.

While there are better ways to spend $70, it was a solid way to introduce the wife to shooting culture.

The inside of the place is something to see. It has some gimmicky stuff on the inside, but also a huge display of military weaponry. The list of firearms available to shoot was pretty impressive. We were right next to the mini-gun station, but that was well-above our price point.
