I will be staying in Vegas for all of three months coming up, and I was wondering if any of you guys knew of a good gym near the strip that would allow me to do a three month membership, is not crazy expensive, and has everything as far as new machines and plenty of them. I am not staying in a hotel and would like to stay on a good workout regime.

24 hour Fitness on Trop/Decatur and you can do month to month for like $30/mo

24 Hour fitness is the best deal in town, unless you are staying in hotels with one.
Venetian has a great gym.

How is a hotel a better deal? I will be staying at the Rio for 6 weeks during the WSOP and the charge an arm and a leg for the gym.

Sorry.
In that case, 24 hour fitness is better. I haven't stayed a ton of places, but V has the gym included in the "resort fee." Crazy enough, you can usually get it waived too. So free gym at Venetian. But nah, I would say 24 hour fitness is the better deal.

I didn't plan on renting a car. Without one getting to and from the gym is rather inconvenient. Paying $1500 to save the money for the Rio gym isn't ideal either. (Obviously I can sometimes use the car for something other than the gym)

Where are you finding it for $30? I'm seeing it for $74.99 on their site. I'm only over there for two weeks but would like to spend a few days at the gym and if I could get it for $30 it would work out much cheaper than using the Wynn's gym. Are there any problems with tourists joining up for a month (I'm from Ireland)?

since there's a lot of gym go-ers commenting here, does anyone have any advice on eating healthy on the strip? or even just a place to get a sandwhich. last time I was there I ate pure junk and it drove me mad, I'm pretty keen into weight training but wont have a kitchenette in my room so will be eating out every meal.

Pretty tough imo, though places like Grand Lux Cafe have lot's of different salads and sandwiches.

Last time I was in Vegas I went to wholefoods and bought lot's of at least semi-healthy stuff. Drinking some juice and eating an apple after waking up in the morning made me feel somewhat healthier.

Friends told me they we're playing ball at their gym and I was pretty sure it was 24 hour fitness at Tropicana/Decatur.

24 Hour Fitness on Tropicana and Decatur has a basketball court. Whoever told you otherwise is full of it.

As far as getting a membership on month to month for cheap, PM me.

Eating healthy...I dunno man, grab salads or turkey burgers wherever you go. Hit up a Smith's, Albertson's, or Whole Foods and get some tuna cans, snack bars, etc.
