A trip to downtown is also suggested. Card Shuffler Greg stayed at the "El Cortez" resort and casino. In before KULA SEAN

This. If you play tournaments the convenience is worth it. You can sleep longer and you can go to your room during the dinner break.

Any place in particular you can recommend?

Eat a big breakfast and snack during breaks, do not eat a big dinner. Drink lots of water. After the dinner break you'll be glad you did.

For dinner break, have a friend go to the restaurant and get a table beforehand. When they let the cattle loose to feed, lines everywhere.

Pro-scouting loser nobodies are far more annoying than you had ever imagined they would be.

Staying in a house is way +ev mentally.

If you buy in to a big event, check your receipt/entrance ticket extra good before you walk away from the cashier.

If you want to play cash games at the Rio, the board/list situation is ALWAYS a complete cluster-F and the games at the Rio won't be appreciably better (softer) than anywhere else in town at the moment.

Prepare to do a LOT of walking. The Rio is vast, especially when including the poker area, restaurants, regular casino and hotel rooms.

The weather has been unseasonably cool, but when it heats up and it will, do not park your car outside in the lot by the convention center entrance and bust a tourney in the mid afternoon. It will be about 150 degrees when you get in it. Park in the garage make the walk, valet or bust after 10PM.

AA is only one pair.

Watch for the Two pair declaration with the board paired. Table your hand!

Eat early, shiite late.

Walk.

No beans please. I might be next to you.

Rub Daniels bald spot if you get the chance. Similar to the Bubba Belly effect.

Kiss your $10,000.00 goodbye.

Always put Patrick on pocket Kings.

You know how , in some hands you know you have the best of it. Wait for that.

Good luck..........(to me)

5/10 PLO plays bigger than 10/20 online.

Hotel internet is awful and incredibly expensive, so an aircard is mandatory.

All house rental agencies are out to scam you in every way possible.

Rio has a free strip shuttle every 1/2 hour to Harrahs/Caesars/Ballys. runs till 4am.

When you land, Take the shuttle, its 5$ and do not have to worry about a cabbie taking you for a Ride if you know what I mean.

Do not be in a rush to gamble once you get there.
Eat good but not as crazy as DN, Lots of water.
If your renting a car do not worry about the top part, but Valet parking is great at every casino if you do not mind the couple dollar tip.
enjoy your self and do stuff other than poker there.

Online "pros" are NOT a good-looking bunch.

Rio is convenient but if you value things like sanity, stay elsewhere.

The players at your table won't be as good as you thought they might be.

Pissing in an outdoor portable trailer is disheartening when you've paid $10k to play a tourney.

Do not underestimate the amount of nerdy/freaky/weird people you will see.
Do not underestimate the amount of crying and whining about river cards you will overhear for the next 2 months.
Don't forget your headphones.
Yes those three idiots at the other end of the table are discussing their pokertracker stats.

No it isn't. It sucks at places like the Venetian and MGM, where the parking garage is a long way from the front door.
