Re: Practicalities of Brit moving to LV full time

it's all very well to say '3 months in, 3 months out' but they can clearly see this, and like everyone has said, it's totally plausible you'd get a guy who looks at your record, sees you have done this for 12-18 months and says 'wtf? no, fu'.

By bikes, you mean motorcycles and not the kind you pedal? I wouldn't rent, it would be too expensive. You can probably find a used scooter for under a thousand dollars. It would be good enough to get around locally, but probably not big enough for the freeway.

Yes I mean motorcycles. Yup if I can buy a scooter that would be great. Do you know if there will be any problems doing that as without a state ID?

Yeah for the longer trips on the freeway I will just rent a car or borrow one.

There is a 2 year visa, its called an E3, the requirements are extremely hard as you must be funded by a US based company, and have to prove that a US citizen can not clearly complete the job that you are working. This alone took around 2 weeks, and multiple interviews! and must be completed in your home country before you depart.

I have seen a few people head up to Canada for the weekend, and then return to the US with a fresh 90 days extra. They do this via the Border crossings as they are way less strict then the airport counterparts.

You can rent a scooter with UK/AUS international licence, I believe it cost $50 aus to get mine, and involved me going to the road transport office and showing them my current licence. I currently rent cars/bikes without a State ID, but pay a slightly higher insurance fee If you are under 25, be prepared to get bent over backwards also

How long did you get for $50?

Re: Practicalities of Brit moving to LV full time

Going to Canada and coming back won't reset the 90-days. The same with all of these countries:

You might get lucky and customs could stamp your passport for another 90-days, but they shouldn't

You don't need an international license to drive a car in Nevada. Your British one will do. You can even register a car if you have a local mailing address

I've since re-read this and understand you meant it cost $50 AUS for the international license.
