Honeymoon in Aruba. Back in the day I played a lot of BJ and since we were on our honeymoon, the wife joined me at a $5 table which was the smallest they had in the casino. Suit and tie required to get in the door. We were playing for a bit when the wife points to the young girl next to her and says she hasn't lost a hand since we sat down. A few minutes later, her boyfriend drops by and is excited because she has won a few hundred dollars. He is losing at some other table and "borrows" a $100. She keeps on winning, hand after hand after hand. Seems like every hand, but she doesn't know what she's doing and barely knows how to play, constantly asking players what to do in certain situations, being reminded to split AA or 88 or double down when appropriate. Yet she keeps on winning. And she never bets more than $5 initially.....EVER. No matter how many times someone suggests she raise her bets, she only bets the $5 minimum, then doubles or splits if needed. this goes on for hours and her stack keeps growing....$200...$300...$400.

About once an hour, her boyfriend comes by and "borrows" another hundred. Still, she keeps winning and her stack grows. Eventually, the dealer starts to color her up once in a while and she begins to get a stack of quarter growing too. Clueless boyfriend drops by one hour, doesn't notice the quarters, see her with only about $300 in nickels and sympathizes that her run is over. The rest of the table just laughs at him, he "borrows" another hundred and leaves.

It was a crowded casino and the players pretty much stayed at the table once they got a seat. My wife and I played until about 4:00 am if I remember. The young girl eventually cashed out and left with her boyfriend, but when the dealer colored her up she had well over $1,000 in front of her. Simply the most amazing run I have ever seen and she never bet more than $5 a hand. Awesome!

I've run completely above expectation at blackjack, probably up 15k with an average bet of $100 over maybe 20 hours lifetime. Pretty much all of it is accounted for by a 2 hour session where I was betting 100-500 on 2 hands though and just smashing the deck.

I came very close to leaving this evening with 5k I had it ready.

I went grocery shopping for a camping trip I'm going on in a few days and I spent a peculiar amount of time buying things.

What's the best way to handle these things, a huge part of me just wants to tAke the casino for 5-6k in a high stakes single deck tilt fueled easion which would get me back to even lifetime.

But I'm just not sure that's a good idea. What's your guys opinion on this matter, how to cope, and do you have to just chalk it up like a man?

Worst part is I am a student with no job or job prospects, I'm just a low stakes grinder and money is all I got.

Busto or robusto?

Or walk away with my head down and my tail between my legs?

Not an epic amount of money, but it certainly was at the time. Spring break my senior year in college 1999, I went to Vegas with my girlfriend like a typical broke as kid. So broke we stayed at Circus Circus, but we played some $1 blackjack at Sahara, where we each bough in for $10, doubled it and cashed out. Walked to Paris, where I ran my $20 to $50. On to an empty $50 table, where the dealer goes "Oh, a one hand bandit." 20 minutes later I walked with $750.

I gambled like a nit and spent reasonably for the next few days while we continued to run very hot... only to lose $650 in my final hour in Vegas, while my girl (unknowingly) showered, which made for a tough conversation at the airport when I asked her to split the cost of parking with me.

Once I turned 18 I just basically always gambled whatever I had to try and hit it bigand experienced major major swings but always ended up losing. I have a dad that gives me way way to much cash and I've always wanted more and have ended up broke time and again

i just remember this one hand...

my brother's bachelor party and we're playing double deck at the palms. i'm playing 2 hands and my brother and his best man 1 each. we're counting the deck out loud (we don't really know what we're doing, mostly joking about it) but the count gets really good and we all bet bigger. i was up 400 so i played 200/hand. they both get 11 they both make 21. i got a BJ on the first hand and 12 on the second. i tell the dealer i'll give her 50 if she give me a 9. she does.

Best run I had in one session was 15 hands in a row but have lost 17 hands in a row as well and tons of times where I lost 10+ hands in a row. Ran $100 into $2k+ about a dozen times in 8 years but never "went for the throat" like some of the people in here.

....

Oh yah, first season of A&E's intervention "Gabe" the gambler. I gambled with him in Vegas long after the episode aired (friend of a friend). He has some really good blackjack tales

Was this Jeff Voyles? Augie, you're so famous, yet I know so little about you.

Turned 5$ into 50$, this was when I first started playing poker.
Was broke, only had a 5$ chip with me, I was about 18 or 19. When I sat at the table, everybody was laughing at me for bringing the 5 dollar chip to bet. Ran it up to about 60 or 70..then left at 50. Never played blackjack since.

I'm thinking you are going to be fun to degen up with this weekend for March Madness. Haha. Back on the topic of the thread I don't have any black jack heater stories but I've had a couple craps heaters where I turned a couple hundred into 2500 or so.
