Paid in a fake $100?

So I'm not gonna name the casino yet, because I don't want to give someone a bad name who doesn't deserve it.

I received a couple $100 dollar bills from the poker room that i suspect may be fake...one has the top border that is very small and uneven and the other has a shorter bottom border...i noticed it when i got home and was putting my money together/away

any money people have any input on authenticity, don't all 100's look exactly the same?

anyone ever had an experience like this? what was the outcome if so?

I called the room and they told me to call back tomorrow morning when the "lead supervisor" got there and to talk to him because the floor that was in charge of the room right now couldn't do anything for me...FML...hope its real, and I'm being a authenticity nit!lol...not really lol tho

I have a number of bills in front of me, and there's a noticeable variance in a few of their top/bottom border widths. In any case, I don't think that's any particular indicator of counterfeiting.

Hold it up to a light, if it's got a strip through it that says USA HUNDRED, you're probably okay. If there is no strip or it says USA FIVE, that's probably not good.

Hmmm...I didn't know about the mini-watermark portrait on the right side of the bill. That's pretty cool.

"usa 100" and water mark ben franklin head and "color changing" ink on the 100 in lower right corner...i think and am hoping this thread is more of a terribly veiled brag as opposed to what the case may be...because i didnt like the sound of what the floor man had to tell me when i called and let them know...

the thing thats throwing me off is how it looks uneven! not only short and tiny borders but its not a straight line, the border is skinnier/hardly there on the left side of the bill!

sorry to tell you...I have seen several 100's that have both what appears to be ribbons strips and water marks.

the good quality stuff is EXTREMELY difficult to discern unless you spend time with a bill. Even the micro printing can be mimicked. your first clue should be sizing, those federal reserve bills are exact in there proportions.

just pass those bills on to the next person. when they get back to the reserve, they will be pulled out of circulation... hopefully.

Fool proof solution : go play poker at same casino and use same bills to buy in. Obv they accepted them true first time! But if they are fake there's no way you're getting refunded. No shot in hell.

Re: Paid in a fake $100?

When I was in Vegas 2 weeks ago playing at the Golden Nugget there was a lady from Canada who brought out one of their new $100 bills. It's freaking plastic - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7chpllnU-To

We need to wake the F up in this country.

the size is what messed with me too...it was slightly smaller than my other bills! Im worried because i was talking to some dude at a check cashing place when i was getting money orders and he was bragging about how good his friends counterfeit hundy's were!

I'm probably gonna end up using them if the casino tells me I'm **** out of luck...its a 100 wtf!

they'll just give it back to you and say do you have another... and that's if they even spend 1 second questioning it... which they won't usually.

frankly, I can't see why bill manufacturing isn't more wide spread than it is. I have worked in the creative field for nearly 30 years and I know for certain I could make master pieces because I am a perfectionist.

the only thing I would be lacking is an intaglio press, I wouldn't want to try and reproduce a bill using offset or ink jet printing, that wouldn't be good enough for me.
