Thx for the inspiration Leon!

Without this thread I never would've found my way to the local UX TDB machine. Got my first handpay!

Now I want to throw a few grand into an UX machine to see if I can get a royal with a 3x multiplier for a 12 grand hit. Except I'd probably have to run 20 grand through it.

Yeah UX can be really frustrating. It really requires comboing 2 made hands together. No worse feeling than coming off a dealt straight or flush, having 8x or 10x everywhere and getting a total brick. It's so huge to get your big draws when you have multipliers. I mean just having the 3x multiplier is the difference between a $500 hand and a $1500 hand.

Reminding me of last trip when at the hard rock I had dealt premium trips twice once after dealt flush and once after dealt full house and bricked the whole 5 hand set both times. I think each time had a hand add the kicker but not the 4th card as an extra dagger to the nut sack. Those hurt even at nickels

As much money as my dad and I have pumped through that UX machine at the Wynn, we still have yet to hit a royal on it, period. By contrast we've hit 4 aces w/kicker every way (from 1, 2, 3 aces dealt, including a made hand) and 4 2s, 3s, 4s w/kicker several times as well.

If it just kept giving us 4 aces w/kicker I'd forget about the royal entirely. Unfortunately that hand is rare as well...

Those occurrences make me wish there was such as thing as 50 or 100 line UX. Of course if there was I'd probably already be busto... :/

Never in my life have I had 4 aces in vp.

So you mean you've never been DEALT quad aces, right?

I thought we established before that you haven't pumped that much money through yet. Coin in a half million or so then we'll talk again

^^ Yea, what leon said. Quad aces is rare, but not THAT rare. In a game like DDB, you should see it once every 4,000 hands or so, which is about every 5 hours if you're playing decently fast single-line.

Apparently I forgot the one time. I would have to rob a bank to get a half million to put into a vp machine. Not worth it to win $2k. I kind of lost my degenerate qualities (as far as gambling, anyway) at age 25. I've probably put $50k coin in this year and about the same last year. I'm really getting sick of Vegas casino policies of charging for everything. I figure they'll start charging for power and water use in the hotels, and toilet paper next year. I won't be doing Vegas any more after that.

I don't play DDB. Maybe that's the difference.

Jump up to double double bonus and spike premium quads w/ a kicker or triple double if they have it where 4 As w/ kicker is a jackpot hand same as a royal

You'll always get that for a straight flush playing max bet quarters on just about any VP variant so don't sweat

That's what most of the bar tops are though, especially for 25 cents.

Yeah, it's the 7 for a full/5 for a flush aspect that the rest of us have a problem with!

I'm convinced that 9-K straight flush is far more common than any other str8 flush. Just as 4 to a royal is the most common str8 flush draw.

Must be a difference between games. I never play TDB any more and I hardly ever see 4 to a royal, it's almost always 3 to a royal.

Well, in theory and in all seriousness the type of game shouldn't matter. Assuming a fair deal, we'll all see 3 aces, 4 to a royal etc just as infrequently on JOB as DDB, TDB, etc. I was joking about the "4 to a royal" being the most common type of straight flush draw, but goddamn it sure seems like it comes up (and whiffs, LDO) a lot.

Same thing with the dealt 9-k str8 flush. I know for a fact I've been dealt that particular sequence at least 3 times. Dealt royal once. WTF. Same odds of either specific sequence...

Aren't 9/6 video poker machines rare nowadays? I thought you have to play high stakes to find them, like 3/2 BJ.

I don't play enough to know if they are rare or not but I found a $.25 9/6 machine at the Cromwell this weekend. There was a bank of 6 machines with signage above saying 99% payback or something like that. Inspired by Leon, I was taking 4oak draw pics...whiffed everyone.

JOB isn't my game but my understanding is many off-strip/Station casinos still have a ton of them for relatively small denom.

As far as "full pay" machines (different games), even the Wynn has several but the smallest denom is 1$ credits. There are still plenty out there if you look and/or are willing to play another game besides JOB.
