since you'll already be visiting the rock, i assume you'll be checking out the rest of the wharf. gary danko's right there.

unfortunately i cannot recommend any omakase in the city since i've never had the pleasure (first time was at blue ribbon per your recommendation, so i trust you'll find something for me in the city lol). i'm sure yelp can point you in the right direction though.

how long are you here? sounds like you already have plenty of stuff to do.

edit: i can tell you what NOT to do .. on the way to napa, don't make any stops in my hometown of vallejo.

Unfortunately, was not able to book a reservation for Danko nor Pannise. At least I got French Laundry, 1/3 isn't bad.

This city is so awesome. Would love to move here...almost did. Argh... regrets.

Living in OC is like not helping w/ my poker addiction.... where it's so boring that you end up making 13 trips to LV in 2012. (Yes, I counted them, 13).

Why the Snacks hate? I think it is really good, though overpriced. The burger and the cheesesteak are both great.

Because for $10-15 ( especially when the OP of the topic wanted to use comp $)more you can get a much more solid meal.

sd is awesome. blondes everywhere. i go there 4-6 times a year to vacation/visit friends, but i'm trying to mix more vegas in. wish i had more opportunities in a year to go to both, but my job doesn't really allow it.

once i pass this next examination though i will be lined up to go into a management role... and i will be able to move pmuch wherever there's an opening. working full time/poker part time... better to live in vegas or live in sd?

I hear you on NYC, been there 4 times and I love it. SD I love it too, have tons of family there, and was supposed to move there before I moved to diamond bar. SF haven't been there in 10 years, but I have a buddy that lives there and says its the same ish as LA just more touristy stuff... Never been to Seattle or Austin. I'm curious to why you think LA is overrated? Maybe because we live here? It has great culture, food, history, scenery, car scene, etc. I come from Phoenix so let me tell you, LA/OC is awesome to me. Lies...SF is so much better than LA. First off, it's an actual city. Not sure WTF LA really is (and it's where I live). I'm from the Bay Area, live in LA now and think SF is one of the greatest cities there are. LA's fine, but not that special.

I've got Chicago on my list too. Great city.

Well, the first thing is... to separate LA from OC.... it's actually 2 completely difference scenes that don't really commingle..... this is mostly because of traffic. (ie. for me to get to LA for a lakers game on a weeknight, it would take me 2.5 hours door to door) This is why Anaheim Angels have their own baseball team.

I guess it's all relative...but basically all the reasons I trash LA is because I feel there is NO culture, NO history....food is disappointing considering the ratio of great restaurants to the city's population.

Denver is awesome. I love it there. Would live there if there were actually any finance jobs.

As for Chicago.... it's ok but it failed to make the list for me because to me it's just a sh*ttier version of NY.
