Hot n Juicy Crawfish on Spring Mtn... I'm a big fan of the food, just not a big fan of reeking of garlic and seafood afterwords. On a side note, the last time I was there, all the waitresses working were ridic hot.

Re: Off Strip Dining / Hidden Gems

don't we already have this thread?

also, subway is awesome. hidden gem off the strip (also one in IP, so you know it's da bomb diggity)

burger king has these delicious things called chicken nuggets. ****'s cray!

seriously laughed at the suggestion of the spicy tuna roll at yard house. hoped it was a level, but it seems as though it's not. i've eaten it and it's a 3/10. MUCH better sushi elsewhere (and cheaper) at Kobe Sushi on Rainbow. <--- this is a real suggestion.

oyshi is decent, but legitimately twice the price of kobe and it's the exact same (they're both within a mile of each other on rainbow, i chose the latter).

also archi's for thai is my go to. Have eaten there ~50x and have never had a bad meal, same for kobe.

it's funny that you think just because you're japanese you know more about sushi than all the white dudes in the thread. reverse racism ftw

Lotus of Siam is amazing. Firefly for tapas/small plates. Noras for Italian.

I haven't been. Disclaimer. I have heard a few things, read up, etc. It seems like the type of place that has been coasting on reputation for several decades but actually isn't all that great at food, but better at classic (old) atmosphere. I'd love to know more myself, since I'm a big fan of said atmosphere.

Re: Off Strip Dining / Hidden Gems

After living here a few years our favorite places to eat are:

Greek Bistro - Its a small mom and pop Greek restaurant in a little building next to sunset station. The parking lots are connecting. We take all of our visitors there and everyone always wants to go back.

Cuginos Italian Deli - It is an east coast transplant and run by an Italian family. It is located across the street from UNLV. The food is excellent, my favorites are the escarole and beans, and the rice balls. This is the only Italian place i have found that comes close to what i had back in NY.

Lotus of Siam - Everyone's favorite Thai place

Re: Off Strip Dining / Hidden Gems

The following places were recommended to me:

Settebello, Vintner Grill, Lotus, Musashi, Firefly and Todd's Unique Dining.

Todd's is the place I chose to try because the other places (I don't know about Vintner Grill) are specialty or ethnic places and you get a nice diverse menu at Todd's.

And OP, I liken Batista's to the Fremont Street Experience. It's one of those things to check off your list about Vegas but you'll be underwhelmed with the product.

Im not Italian or from new york...but CUGINO's is THE NUTS! I second the rice balls...glad to hear it has an authentic NY taste to it...cuz i really like this place...I'll sometimes buy the rice balls cold and eat them when i make some kinda pasta at home, DELICIOUS!

Nora's on West Flamingo/Jones is worth a trip from the strip. Great Italian food at very reasonable pricing.
Been meaning to hit Nora's every trip but haven't. Locals seem to love it and they say Steve Wynn eats there often

Re: Off Strip Dining / Hidden Gems

bachi burger is amazing

kobe is very good too, after 5pm get happy hour 30-50% off most sushi rolls..****ch better deal than all you can eat sushi (unless you can stuff your face with 5 rolls i dunno)

lotus of siam and archi's are both very good for thai food

taco's el gordo is pretty much the nuts in terms of mexican fast food

if you've never had irish nacho's before, hit up mcmullans on tropicana just across the street from the orleans. 10pm-2am half off apps and their nacho's are amazing, good beer there too.

could also hit up PT's after midnight and grab a popcorn chicken pizza. prob my favorite buffalo chicken pizza ever and after midnight it's half off

firefly's is excellent for tapas, tuna tartar and beef empanadas are delicious

mint indian bistro is excellent for indian food. avoid their inferno menu though, no normal man should be able to eat a curry made with ghost peppers. also very good selection of beer
