Off Strip Dining / Hidden Gems

I come to Vegas several times a year and will be there next week. I have eaten in many of the great restaurants on the Strip but have rarely ventured off the strip to eat. I always rent a vehicle so I am mobile.
I enjoy most types of food.

I thought I would like to try some new restaurants off the strip. Any recommendations?

the yard house in town square has an off the hook spicy tuna roll. it's superb and you can sit outside, people watch and order Firestone Walker IPA... Double Nom Nom.

they don't make the spicy tuna roll as a traditional roll... it's more like a pie. what else are you looking for? I hear old Battista's is really good, but you need reservations.

if you haven't done so, you can try the M buffet with all you can drink Ale and Wine.

Prommares Thai Food on W. Sahara- You might as well be in a Thai grandmother's house.

Via Brasil (Brazillian Steakhouse)- Just ridiculous

Rocco's Pizza on W. Charleston for some of the best pie out here IMO.

Sushi House Goyemon on Decatur at Hacienda. Get the all you can eat and sit at the bar. The chefs are really cool guys and the food is incredible. I usually get 2-3 of the sashimi salad.

Any Roberto's Taco Shop location. There is one at Decatur at Hacienda, in case you didn't get all you can eat at the sushi place. There is also one near the entrance to the airport not far from Thomas and Mack.

Okay, then. How about LOL at recommending a chain restaurant and a casino buffet as "hidden gems."

I've heard the same thing about Battistas. From what I've heard I can just imagine chafing trays lined up in the kitchen and waiters spooning premade spaghetti, lasagna and linguine on to individual plates.
