The runner up names were Vegas Desert Knights and Black Knights which I both prefer over the Golden Knights. The colors of Red/Black or Silver/Black would have been much better too instead of this gold stuff.

I hope this isn't a bad omen of how to they will play because the name sucks.

Any name with "Knights" in it is the worst possible name. Completely irrelevant with anything pertaining to Las Vegas. Yes-Yes I'm aware of the Army connection with ownership. It sounds like a name that won a naming contest in a 6th grade classroom... Golden Knights??? I mean come on, really?

With the possibility of the NFL Raiders coming to Las Vegas, this NHL team should have chosen Silver Knights. This NHL owner just lost a crap ton on potential silver and black merchandising.

Plus like someone else mentioned, Nevada is the Silver State...like what the F was this owner thinking. Bad omen that this owner probably doesn't listen to advisers.

Nevada produces 73% of the gold in the US and 4% of the world total overall. It's not THAT wild for Foley to have gone with gold.

The worst name ever was "Mighty Ducks." None of those names are as bad as that one was.

I also still laugh at "The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim."

I would have preferred silver knights.

Then they should have gone with the Las Vegas Panhandlers.

Ummmmmmm... Nooooooo... It's well documented that the "Knights" part of the name is 100% directly due to the fact that Foley is a West Point grad. I thought we all had pretty much figured that part out, guess I was wrong.
