Mr. Cheese, what was your criteria for eventually putting in significant hours at 2-5? Academically, I understand the need to always try to move up. But, if I know I can crush the stakes I play, isn't there an argument to be made to do that instead of treading water at a higher level?

you nailed but one of the reasons right there, if you're win rate is insane at a certain stake, you may be sacrificing little to no improvement while encountering larger swings moving up. For me personally it's just reached a point that if I want to keep playing live I HAVE to transition to a healthy win rate at almost entirely 2-5 with an eye on higher despite how comfortable/crushing I may be lower. But def wouldn't personally advise much shot-taking until you are at least adequately rolled for the stake your playing. Obviously the rules are a little different with recreational players.

lmao pretty funny when thinking 1500 is a poker roll isn't the most rediculous thing you've said in a thread. sick beat -classic.

Whats with all the hate & terrible advice, dude's taking a shot with a small roll and doing pretty good so far, just gotta keep doing what he's doing and try to get actually rolled for 1/2.

good point. moving to vegas with 1500 to be a poker pro is a great idea and lising a 3 way all in with 35 % equity is a sick beat.

"Moving" to vegas is just booking a one-way ticket to vegas with some clothes and a toothbrush. Who cares if he's back home in a week. He's literally said it's for fun to see how long he lasts and might as well be back home in Oklahoma in a couple days.

Exactly
Don't understand the hate. It's no different than most vacations other than he dosent have a set return date.

i wish this kid all the best.
my advice:
-don't play 30 hour sessions. get into a "normal" routine of some sort.
-book your wins. as you've discovered, no matter how well you play, at some point you'll find yourself on the wrong end of a "sick beat." you're trying to make a living. nobody ever went broke cashing out up every time. if you find yourself up, cash out!
-that was not even close to a "sick beat." if you play day in and day out you'll find that sort of beat is a daily occurrence, especially at 1/2 where people will see flops with atc.

I realize that hand wasn't a sick beat, looking back. Thanks to all of those who are trying to help. The rest of you haters I feel sorry for. Hand last night, I have KK. Dude makes it 15 one caller, I 3 bet to 50. Both call. Flop is QJ3 all clubs and I have the K of clubs. We get it in on the flop. He has QQ and turns quads. Roll at 2600

Agree pretty sure my average rhino trip is 500+ and that's if I'm already hammered when I get there.

i've never heard of anyone getting out of the rhino for under $500. I'm pegging the over/under on OP's next bankroll update at $1250.

i really am rooting for OP but when bankroll = liferoll = < $3000, trips to the rhino and 30 hour sessions should not be part of the equation.

I've got to pile on with everyone else. Every penny is crucial until you get properly bankrolled. Show better discipline.

Go to the gym and go back to your room.
