Monte Carlo Poker Room to Close April 24th Monte Carlo Poker Room to Close April 24th

I'm sad to report the Monte Carlo Poker Room is closing on April 24th. The dealers let me know they were informed a few days ago. I assume this move is in conjunction with MC's conversion to The Park Resort.

This is really a stinks. In my opinion The MC poker room is the best lower roller room on the strip.

Interesting. I only played there once and it was similar to playing at Excalibur or Luxor in my opinion. Players were super horrible but nobody had even close to a $300 stack besides me. Some players had $50 or less.

It's really close to the Aria poker room and there was really no reason for me to pick the Monte Carlo over Aria. But not sure many of the Monte Carlo players would want to play at Aria.

I have a lot of good memories from MC. They could get some crazy games going on occasion, though sometimes it was like an AARP convention. Dealers and floor were above average as well. I'm gonna miss that place.

Yeah, I don't see why it would be called "best". One table most of the time, two some of the time. Pretty weak. Can't imagine when it last had a 2/5 or LHE game.

It might have had 2/6 limit like Excalibur. Can't remember how often that ran though and I don't care about that game.

Not surprising that this has happened.

I use to visit this place as a matter of convenience. Close proximity to free parking when it was available in the past. But that area has been massively built up and floor space now will be a premium.

Will check it out before it closes when I'm back home next month.

Thanks for the heads up info.

I have fond memories of playing stud/8 there 20 years ago.

I remember playing 4/8 HORSE there years ago and maybe another game a time or two for an hour or two while staying there and waiting for girlfriend. I thought it had a very nice ambiance for a small room; was easy to get to but not just a random spot in the middle of the floor like some of the other small rooms in town. Not sure if it had been moved since then.

Going to miss the room. Even going to miss the one older female tournament dealer who chewed me out and embarrassed me in front of everyone when I mistakenly went over the betting line the first time I played there..

Sad but I get it. Room wasn't that busy as is. Aria is right next door.

This room is great to donk around in while waiting for a seat at Aria when lists get huge. It can unfortunately sometimes take hours to get into a PLO game at Aria. Now when the lists are huge I will probably just go somewhere else. I will actually miss the MC poker room itself though. There is no better room to drink and play low stakes NL with friends due to the friendly floor staff and extremely fast cocktail service. While I don't see the MC supervisors flooring high stakes any time soon I honestly think a few of them would be great additions to any low stakes NLHE house.

I almost forgot that they even had a fun weekly $4/$8 HORSE game back in ~2008 when mixed was starting to get more mainstream

RIP MC

For rec players, Monte Carlo 1/2 is a blast to play, whereas some of the most miserable people on earth play 1/3 at Aria..

I played 3/6 full kill LHE years ago and folded jacks preflop because I didn't want to get involved with a 6/12 pot.

This was my #1 room during my first half year in Las Vegas.

I played a lot of 1-5 stud and 4-8 limit hold 'em (with $1 and $2 blinds) there.

It's ambiguous. Would there still be a game afternoon/evening of April 24th? Or would the last game be April 23rd and end early morning of April 24th?
