Casually stroll into Aria pool around 10:30am after a late breakfast this morning with some clients..

Front security guy says "can I see your room key sir?"

I say I'm not currently a guest, but I have the Gold Mlife card.

Response- "you must be a guest or a platinum mlife member"

I'm not getting platinum for this BS just going to hang on to a room key my next stay at Aria. Figured we could add this to the list of dumb reasons to get Platinum vs Gold.

When did they start being so strict about that when entering the pool?

I think I posted this in another thread, but I put ~100K through a VP machine in MGM, and the best offer I've gotten is 2 weekday nights and a Ka discount. It is by far the tightest comps I've experienced anywhere; I put about half that amount through at Harrah's for Diamond in a Day, and get free rooms (any time) and freeplay throughout most of the year.

Whoa, according to your benefits as a Gold member you're suppose to get VIP access for you and 1 guest to dayclubs (like Liquid, Moorea, Wet Republic) and Nightclubs (Haze, 1OAK etc) so that's peculiar unless they recently changes the benefits without notice or you got a dumb guard (which happens)

Yes, but then you're stuck at a Caesars property.

Don't know. I was at Aria over Labor Day weekend and wandered around the pool without showing (or even being asked) for a room key.

I'm not that delicate; would rather stay free at Paris or w/e than pay for MGM.
