Re: General Vegas Discussion/Questions/ETC - Post your quick questions here
Fleur De Lys restaurant at the mandalaly is the best dining experience I have EVER had. This is over a sample size of probably 20 high end restaurants around north america. I had the chefs tasting menu with 'mid range' wine parings @ 250 per plate - definitely a deal when you consider the 5k hamburger + some super rare wine that was on the menu
The service was amazing, the sommelier explained each course + its pairing in elaborate detail - he obviously could have been bull****ting and I wouldnt have known the difference, but I was still impressed Afterwards they gave us a tour of the kitchen + wine loft (think cellar but it is glass enclosed and overlooks the restuarant)

Second the high notes on Mandalay. It's just a great property. Yeah, the poker room sucks, but everything else about the place is first-class.

I've only heard good things about Mandalay...the only downside is the location(southernmost casino on the strip), walkable to NYNY, MGM(decent poker there), prob want to cab it to Bellagio or Venetian, depending on how far you want to walk.
I think if it had a better location, it would be mentioned more as a ideal place to stay.
one of my fave restaurants is China Grill in Mandalay, some V good asian-fusion there
I've heard rumors of some special club/restaurant there, i can't recall the name though. I heard its REALLY exclusive/baller only type place...so I wanna go sometime.

House of Blues Foundation Room, bar and restaurant at the top of Mandalay. Nice balcony that looks right down the strip. It ain't that baller or exclusive, but you do need to be a member or invited or something. I've always been invited so I don't know how a random person would get there.

Red Rock is a nicer joint than you think it is. No RV park there that I'm aware of or have seen, and I've stayed there a lot.

Thanks a lot for the reply. I thought I saw one advertised there once but must have been mixed up with another casino as it's not on their WEB page. I'm only in a pick-up camper and sometimes get rousted if I sleep in the casino lots.

I don't live close enough but the top table in your photos is most likely made from Gordo's holdem table plans. He's on E-Bay and they sell for six bucks. Easy to build takes about a weekend in the garage. You need a power staple gun, glue gun, and a jigsaw. But they are not hard to make. Very good plans. Complete material lists. We built a couple for our local home games. We got a couple hundred bucks each in them but we used first class materials. We used the the felt cover but speed cloth is available from the various gambling supply places. We get the cup holders, dealer chips, cut cards and the like from Vegas anyway.
So if you want a really cool table build you own. Is there a market in LV for custom made poker tables? You could easily get $800 out of these with a little custom work. The construction trade is a little slow here in Idaho? You got a garage?

I'm heading to the MGM next month, the 25th. Anyone helpout with room category names there? What is the 1st level up from the standard room that I'd be asking for? Are cetain locations room locations more desirable? Are there different towers or something? Given that this will be the 2nd weekend of the NCAA tourney, are our odds sig. less of getting the upgrade?

Well, we already played that cash game, so we don't really need the table anymore. A buddy of mine used to build tables a lot, so I know they aren't that hard to build. However, it's still a little too much work any of us wanted to do for one short handed home game. While I can't say with any sort of authority, I do not think there is much of a market for custom poker tables in LV. And no I don't have a garage.

I love when people come on here and just ask someone else to do something that they could easily do. Look it up yourself!! Here, I'll even give ya a jump start
MGM GRAND
And yes, your odds will be less seeing how you're going during NCAA Tourney.

Do you love it? Really? Like on a scale from 1 - 10, how much do you love it? Like a 7.5? 8?
I did google it, but I obviously fail hard at google. So seriously, thanks for the info. From what you provided, it would look like we'd be in the grand tower, and the first upgrade would be to a bungalow suite, right?

Re: General Vegas Discussion/Questions/ETC - Post your quick questions here
I'm going to Vegas in March to play LIMIT, anywhere from 4/8 to 10/20. From my research both on 2+2 and googling, it seems like the main/best options are Bellagio and Venetian for 4-8 (it's unclear whether they also run 6/12 games), then Bellagio for 8/16, then Mirage and Wynn for 10/20. If I run sick hot in the first few days, the next option would be Bellagio's 15/30.
Are there any rooms I'm missing and can anyone give me any more info on any of these rooms (i.e. best times to play, level of competition, etc.)?
Thanks.
