Complete noob question: I have already booked a room and am staying at Harrahs for a few weeknights and a saturday night in july. I noticed on the bravo app that harrahs has a poker room rate...even though i have already booked at the full price can i still get the poker rate if i play enough? Im thinking of trying to get the poker rate saturday which is the most expensive night...

Does Vegas have decent public transit? Would like to go for a month or two and play live and have no vehicle. Was hoping there's adequate bus routes to get me from off-strip to the strip reasonably quick.

Overall I would say LV is not a good city for public transportation. However, there are buses that go to the strip; just need to make sure the place you go is on one of the lines.

I've seen lots of threads like this over the years and I've always wondered; is staying where you play not an option?

It can be a more expensive option. If I were going to stay for a month or two in Vegas, I would definitely need to stay somewhere with an actual kitchen.

Really, none of them are priced very high, especially when compared to Strip hotels. Golden Nugget is the class of the bunch, also the most expensive, but definitely not unreasonably so. I've always heard Main Street Station is nice, but I can't vouch for it. Four Queens is a good value, as they remodeled the rooms a few years ago (sans bathroom) and they're better than they used to be.

Only been here 2 days but first impression are that the public transport is pretty solid.

I'd planned to stay at the meridian and just walk everywhere but the first letting agent i called took my details and didnt bother to call back and the second letting agent has jacked their prices up as wsop about to start. On short term 2-3 month rentals they are now asking 2k ish per month which is too much for me.

Was having a hard time finding other options as my 2 back up places were fully booked so ended up doing a week to week in the siegel suites select its way too far down flamingo to walk but downloaded rtc app on phone can get a monthly pass for $65 and just use your smartphone.

Dont really plan on staying in the siegel for long its a pretty bad location on room is very basic so if anyone has other suggestions of places closer to downtown that would do decent weekly/monthly rates would appreciate it

Candlewood Suites. It's $50/night for stays longer than 30 days, with hotel tax charged only on the first 30 days. Basically a studio apartment with kitchenette. Definitely a step above the Siegels/Emeralds as far as quality goes for an extended stay hotel - it's an IHG (Holiday Inn Express, Crowne Plaza, etc property). Right on Flamingo/Paradise. Easy ride on the #202 bus to the strip for $2 if you are too lazy to walk the 15 minutes it takes to get there.

I'm at Candlewood now. The last two times I've come out here for multi month stays I've oscillated between Meridian and Candlewood and C won out both times, mostly for flexibility of departure and not dealing with garbage paperwork and lease hassles.

The city buses are pretty decent. It's waiting for the bus in 100+ degree weather that sucks.

Going to Vegas for the WSOP for about 6 weeks and staying about 15 min west of the strip. Does anyone have a recommendation for a gym that offers monthly rates and isn't insanely expensive? Something simple is fine with me. Everything I'm seeing online requires a long commitment. Thanks!

Not sure exactly where you are, but I think Planet Fitness is still $10 a month with no commitment. There is one at Flamingo and Decatur about 2 miles west of the strip.

Staying at an Air BnB west of the Rio, and it appears there is a Smith's (and some restaurants less than a half mile walk from the place, which is just west of Decatur and north of Flamingo. Decent enough neighborhood to walk at any time, just during the daytime, or not at all?

I used to live near there, actually closer to Rio but would walk to the strip and to Smiths. Never felt unsafe. I would -only- walk at night in the summer though - way too hot in the daytime.

If I use my friend's diamond card to park at CET properties, will I get caught? Will he lose any privileges? How strict are they about checking drivers licenses when someone uses a player's card?

You should also take a careful look into your banking fees for a wire to the US. Would be awesome if you could do SEPARATE transfers to US accounts.
