Any decent hotels/motels in Vegas that are off strip? I need a room for 2 nights over a weekend and pretty much everything on the strip is $200-$300. Thanks.

I stayed at MC about 4-5 years ago at that same time of year. Pool scene was indeed dead.

We found Palace Station to have the lowest rate, but Airbnb is even better with no rip-off resort fees.

Can anyone tell me the year Luxor's cardroom moved onto the main casino floor?
I'm trying to recall the year of my second Vegas trip.

Thanks.

Educated guess: 2013 sounds about right.

Do the strip casinos have free Wi-Fi?

Most do but use common sense with regard to sensitive interaction.

It's for WhatsApp so me and my buddies can communicate, we won't have phone signal on our English phones.

Last time I was in Vegas (also from the UK) I got one of these delivered to my hotel before I arrived. I'd recommend doing something similar.

Get you phone unlocked if it already isn't, get US SIM card and cheap date plan for a short period. Easy game. No need to depend on Wi-Fi.

Thanks but was definitely earlier than that. I've since found a photo playing on the PokerTec tables they installed when they moved and that was taken late 2008 so it was most likely around then.

well that might predate me then...I only remember it ever being in the hallway that leads to Excalibur and where it is now, by the race & sportsbook. think the first time I played there and actually noticed it's existence was roughly 2011.

Does anyone have a favorite pizza place that does delivery to the strip/caesers? I'd love to be able to order from a local place and avoid the crazy room service charge from the hotel.

i seriously doubt a place will be willing to deliver unless youre willing to meet them at Valet, and even then, Caesars prbably has pretty strict rules about this sort of thing that wouldnt be worth it to a delivery company. You could walk to Pin up / Secret Pizza/ Five50 and order a whole pizza and take it back with you though

I actually called Caesers and they'll let us deliver, probably because we are in the Nobu instead. Thanks for the suggestions though.

I suggest that you all order a SIM from THREE in the UK.
With a £20 bundle that gives unlimited data in the uk, minutes and texts...

Because three do this home from home deal thing, in the USA you can use the minutes, texts and data (not unlimited, but about 20 gig I think) as if you are at home.

So you can call, text each other, and back to the uk, all coming out of your bundle.

Bundle lasts for 30 days.

If interested, let me know and I'll find the link and more details

Does anyone have any previous experience with staying at 'Flamingo Palms Villas' opposite the rio? Looking for a place to stay for 4 weeks during the WSOP. Seems like an ideal location and reasonable prices. Just wanted to hear some opinions first before booking.

Thanks

I just moved out of there because the condo I was renting went into foreclosure. It's individually owned condos though, so the insides of all of them would be different. The location is great, it seemed very safe, guarded gate. Only really bad thing in the summer is there is no covered parking. No gym, just two tiny pools. Feel free to PM me if if you have any more specific questions.
