Some will, and it's not unheard of to stop receiving offers if you're caught stiffing them.

I've heard others suggest dropping by at least once to make your presence felt - drop a few coins into a slot machine on your player's card, pull the blanket off the bed and towels onto the floor, and call your casino host from your room phone to thank him/her. It's 5 minutes of your time and allegedly ensures a steady stream of offers.

Obviously, read the fine print carefully.

Yes, but the value of looking like you deserve an upgrade is greatly underestimated. If you look like an unimportant scrub who's a total cheapskate, you're not going to get an upgrade, or at least not a very good one. The point is to exude a certain confidence and deservedness; the $20 is not a magic wand. You're speaking mostly with body language, not with money.

"Are there any complimentary upgrades available, because I normally stay in the suites but my secretary accidentally booked me with the plebes this time?" / "Why yes, it seems we just had a cancellation."

vs.

"Are there any, heh, heh, 'complimentary upgrades' available, *wink*, because here's a $20 for you if you give me what I want ... mmm ... $20 ... watch me wave it in your face.." / "Sorry, we're booked."

If you hear people talking about how the trick doesn't work, it's generally because they act like high school kids who just figured out how to sneak into a movie theater.

what if you just looked confident while giving hte $20 and said, " you got anything better available"? Nicely, but firm?

I've never done this as I've gotten what I've wanted just by asking nicely, but I would imagine if you make the $20 sandwich and give a POLITE, SPECIFIC REQUEST WITHIN REASON, it will click.

We might try this in July when we stay at Wynn to upgrade to a parlor suite. Obv we'll put a $100 in btwn the DL and CC.

From here: http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/registration/
The payment instructions (http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/pd...structions.pdf) talk about wire transfers and how you have to cover the cost of wiring the money. Does the WSOP account @ BofA charge for receiving wire transfers?

Me and my roommates need a car for the entire series, from like may 28 until mid july. Is there something cheaper than going to enterprise? The prices they have are pretty ridic and don't really seem worth it.

Also I'd like to play 5/10 and 10/20 NL regularly while im there, hopefully with 2-3k and 5k max buyins respectively (or no cap works too.) Does rio run anything larger than 5/10 nl during wsop and what are its caps? Where will the best games be regularly for these limits?

I'm guessing you are under 25? The only alternative that comes to mind is buying something cheap off of craigslist and hoping it lasts the length of your stay.

I am under 25 yes, we really would like something a bit more baller. Do you think it's possible a car dealership would let us rent a car or something for a month and 1/2 if we made a relatively large deposit. (i.e. a cadillac escalade, where we paid maybe 3k for it, and left a $5k deposit).

No idea. Wait and see if anyone else has any good suggestions. Or start calling dealerships and asking.

Sorry if this has been covered somewhere before but:

Planning on coming to Vegas for a couple of weeks around the WSOP ME, and wanted to play a number of tournaments in addition to the ME, as well as cash games. Is the best way to bring around $20-30k wiring it to the casino I'm staying at (haven't booked anything yet)? Would a casino be happy with this even though I'm likely not going to be playing where I'm staying?

Edit: Just in case it wasn't clear I'm obviously asking due to the $10k restriction of carrying cash into the country...

Most casinos have a western union office in their main cage (rio & bellagio do at least), you can just wire your money to Las Vegas, and pick up it there (have a couple forms of ID ready). They're not going to ask you or even care if the money is for that casino or not. The only issue would be if you have some deal with a host for RFB and the host is expecting you to play.

LOL, for that much, you could just about buy a new one, make the payments for a year, and leave it with someone until next year. Maybe not a Caddie, but you could probably get a screamin' deal on a big gas guzzler these days.

BTW, you'll have no trouble finding the biggest game you want in the Amazon Room in the Rio, and 10/20 in places like the Venetian and probably the Wynn.

Thanks. If it's really Western Union not affiliated with the casino, I could in theory send this to any casino even if I'm not staying there?

There's no restriction. Anything over $10,000 worth of goods have to be declared, that's all. So long as the money was derived from legal sources and you are not a wanted criminal, declare it and you're fine bringing cash should you want to (you might not want to for other reasons, though).
