Are the major poker rooms generally non-smoking?

Yes. But some aren't really secluded from the main casino floor. I enjoy Caesar's room, because it is a secluded area and you def have no smoke to worry about. That is until you go on break and get out through the heavily smoke filled (but still pretty awesome) sports book.

Congrats on being the laziest person on the Internet today

And they only have one tower with wings so just get a room close to the elevator.

Yes! 99.9% of all poker rooms are non-smoking. I can only find that Arizona Charlie's in Decater is smoking, but I am sure there are a few off strip smoking
rooms, but I can't find them.

Last edited by Papachubie; 01-05-2014 at 09:08 PM. Reason: When does it end? if it hasn't already? Thanks

I thought so, but Allvegaspoker says it's non-smoking. I have not been to
Boulder station, since my blackjack days, so 16 years+ ago.

the avp page says

Quote:
The Boulder Station Poker Room is one of the busiest Off Strip rooms, and one of only two poker rooms left in Las Vegas that allows cigarette smoking at the table (3 tables in the back, the rest are non smoking tables).
its quite possible though that my info is out of date -- i was there like 4 years ago to check out the LO-high game and it there was still smoking then.

I see that now, but their checklist said non-smoking and I did not read further.

http://www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com/...romotions.aspx

It says it ends Jan 31st 2014 but apparently they've extended every month for the past x months. Make sure you ask about it when you sign up.

Pretty cool promo and one that just about everyone should hit up if they have the chance.

Making a two night pit-stop in vegas on a Sunday and Monday night in mid-march with 8 friends (5 guys 3 girls) on our way to Lake Havasu for Spring Break. Looking at staying at either Pho or Trop (cheap, decent pools). I've heard that negotiating group rates are a thing in vegas. There's some decent promos I've seen on smartervegas.com but I was wondering if any of you guys have exp with negotiating group rates and how you went about it. We're all 21-22 and have never been to vegas.

The reason I asked is I saw someone mention that PH was smoky.

Thanks for the info guys.

Made me google. That is so not a "loophole". But it does make for some mildly entertaining followup posts as those with a soul debate the topic vs those without a soul. http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...postcount=1989

PH is definitely smoky, though the tables themselves are nonsmoking. People can and do smoke about four feet from the tables. It's one of the only downsides to the room imo.

In related news, the Megabeat is going away, and I have no clue why. All the CET rooms are going to be doing their own thing now. PH is doing $50 for quads and $100 for straight flushes. THAT'S surely going to be more exciting for casual players than the bbj was.

fwiw, I find vegas rooms smoky. WAY WAY more smokey then rooms back east. But that's vegas period.

Almost all vegas rooms, save the V and aria are smokey. Especially ones like PH where there isn't a room, just a section of the pit/floor.

Everybody who poasts about wanting to live in LV for a month or two specifies that they want to be "near the strip."

Few LV locals who work on the strip live "near the strip," and there's a reason for this. "Near the strip" is but a sketchy maelstrom of hookers, bodegas, helicopters and sirens. Would you live in helicopter-and-sirenville in your hometown to save a 15-20 minute commute to work? Live but 15 minutes away from the Strip, for example to the south or west, and you can get the same cheap furnished apt., except in a safe, quiet neighborhood, with quiet neighbors and decent grocery stores.

Consider the poker rooms on the strip as your workplace, and commute in by car or public transportation.

The poker rooms that are actual inclosed rooms are not smokey, for example Ceasars and Harrah's are also not smokey. The open areas will have smoke drift in from the rail. The plus to open area rooms is that they get more tourist traffic. The newer the construction the better ventilation it will usually have. So I agree the NEWER back east open rooms are less smokey, but this is not so of the older casinos.
