If there are enough of you, just get a limo. Not bad if you avg out the price. Plenty of them waiting there and negotiable.

Or do what I do. Go to level zero. Each casino there has a totally free shuttle. I've seen ones for m resort, south point palace station several others.

If you don't have much luggage, Level Zero also features city buses.

We need Allen around just like we need Bilzerian around... to remind us where the extremes are. It makes the rest of us much more comfortable knowing we lie somewhere between.

"Tunnel" == "Airport connector tunnel". The standard route used by 60%+ of Vegas cabbies to longhaul tourists. Refer to the longhaul thread in this forum.

1. You could avoid the tunnel by being dropped off on the other side of the street at the V or Harrahs and then walk across the street.

2. It has never taken me more than 15-20 minutes to get mid strip by shuttle.

3. The shuttle only carries around 12 persons. They organize different shuttles to different locations. It would be impossible for them to stop at "every sodden hotel". They wouldn't make any money if they did. Their goal would be to make as many trips from the airport in a day with a full shuttle as possible. I've never had more than 3 stops before I got to my hotel.

4. Whats the rush?

5. Bottom line. Shuttle $6/person, 20 minutes. Taxi $25, 10 minutes. You choose. I usually shuttle to the hotel and tax to the airport. It isn't a big time difference or a big $ difference.

Charge it all to your room and ask your host to comp it off.

Ok, is that the standard to do? I actually went to his office to talk to him earlier, but he wasn't there.

It's standard both to have to call your host, and for him not to be there.

Variation 1: Your play is so magnificent that all your RFB (room, food, and beverage) (also known as incidentals) magically disappears from the room bill the morning of check-out when you view it on the room TV -- without your having to call anyone. You wish you had had more Dom brought up.

Variation 2: You call the host, and he comps off all or most of your incidentals. You make a note to yourself to eat at the steakhouse instead of the buffet next trip.

Variation 3: Host blows-off most or all of your request, or your call is forwarded to Casino Marketing where you get music on hold. If you're lucky you'll get a decent comp offer in the mail. Unless, of course, you're at the V.

In no case will you ever get any tips comped, it's good form to always tip in cash.

Thanks for the advice guys. I called and he took it off, it was only like $60. I had about 4 hours of play at 300/hand this trip, was only there for 2 days, spent the other time playing poker.

Can my host at mirage get me rooms at aria or other MGM properties?

he can probably do something.

that said, MGM tends to be much more property specific than CET -- that is to say, if you do all your gambling at the mirage, youll tend to get a lot more comp love at the mirage than anywhere else.

Hi guys

I need some help with a little thing.

I'll be in Vegas next friday - lucky me - and as usual I'll be taking a taxi to go to my hotel, this time the Flamingo. Question : what exactly should I say to the taxi driver to prevent him for using the longest possible road ? As I'm a foreigner, it seems to me that as soon as a cab driver hear my voice and accent, he probably thinks he hit his jackpot for the day

I've read here and there that I should say "I'm going to the Flamingo - No Tunnel please". is that correct ? and why ?

Thanks in advance for any help...

Would you guys recommend any particular time in April to visit?

Turning 21 at the beginning of the month and have the full month off uni, looking to spend 7-10 nights. Cheers.
