We went to play some craps - no text, then we went and grabbed some early dinner - 6pm when we finished dinner - no text, went to Aria's Sportsbook to watch some baseball and finally at ~8pm we get a text stating the accessible room is ready, and it wasn't 5 minutes later and the second text letting us know the other room is set to go.
Seeing as check-in is 3pm, and since we paid for the rooms, should we have asked for an upgrade? Comps? Money deducted for our stay? Anything? Or, nothing, they reserve this right and it happens a lot? Should we have, at the least, asked for a reason why this happened? Manager? Additional info: this check-in was a Wednesday, not a weekend.
This was in June '11 but I just thought about this. I guess I was too happy to be in Vegas to make a scene when we were getting our keys. I guess I just would like some opinions and hopefully gain some insight as to what I should do/ask for should this happen again.
Thanks in advance!

I don't think so, especially since you had a wheelchair room and adjacent room(I'm assuming). If you'd gone to the front desk at three and asked maybe. PS the downside to checking in early is you tend to get the worst rooms.

For whatever reason I can get comped at Caesars on the 3rd night of my trip which is odd because I've never gotten comped at CP. Guess I'll keep waiting and checking. Wish I would have booked the rooms when they were comped...especially since we're staying longer then usual because I figured it was free.

What's not to understand it's pretty simple...the rooms are in high demand for whatever reason (probably some kind of conference or event) so they would rather sell your room for hundreds of dollars per night instead of giving it to you for free!

Every time I've passed Toby Keith's it was filled with soccer moms. Not very divey.
Maybe walk down near the Riviera. There's a divey looking strip mall and the area is just divey in general. Maybe there's a bar in there somewhere.

I don't know if it happens often, but it's often enough to be annoying. IME you get diddly squat for compensation and getting mad just gets a shrug and "Go somewhere else, then".

The TR webpage is a little weird. I have everything besides the nicer property's one day, nothing the next day. Log in tonight and suddenly everything is open again plus they added Paris for 5 nights (never offering it to me before).
Looks like I will be going in October after all because I snap booked that deal. Just need the airfare to drop a little and I will be set but its the same damn thing. Check one day and its $270 RT, next day $340.
Anyway wengleha make sure you keep checking that thing daily. Good luck.

Funny, I checked this morning and had Paris comped all 4 nights so I insta-booked. I have also never been given Paris which I found odd that they are now. They were also giving me two nights at CP but I didn't want to have to change rooms mid trip. Guess they didn't want to sell these rooms for hundreds of dollars.

Hotel question:
Aria vs Cosmopolitan - pretty much a coinflip?
Vdara - got a much better rate than either of the above. Given how close it is to Aria is it a comparable option?
Thanks

You can raise hell if you want to and you might get something, but it's really just one of those situations where you ask yourself if it'll make you happier to raise hell or not, and act accordingly. It's certainly not something you NEED to raise hell over, is what I'm saying. If it happened a second time, there would be no question that I'd raise hell.
And the reason it happened is because they had a large amount of check-outs that day, which is always going to be because of a convention. They don't staff on a Wednesday like they do on a weekend, and don't adjust even if they know they've got 2000 people checking out of a hotel on a Wednesday. Exact scenario happened to me there a while back.

Vdara at a much better rate than the other two is the definite pick. Aria and Cosmo at the same rate is indeed a pick'em.

Cross Posting from my thread: Has anyone stayed at the Vdara City Corner Suite? If so can you see the fountains from the room? Also, would I feel overwhelmed in this room with only two people? (My fiance and I are honeymooning in Vegas....)

The fiancee wants me to ask if they're there any websites that would give dates for scrapbooking, beading, or quilting events in Vegas?
