wengleha and syncmaster,
I would call them up and see what they can do for the days you want. In my experience the total rewards phone operators are very helpful and can sometimes get you a comped room when the website says you'll have to pay.

Definitely this. They have gone out of their way a few times to help a group of us that basically only play poker on long extended stays. One of the few high points of the Caesars Corp is the total rewards department imo.

Re: General Vegas Discussion/Questions/ETC - Post your quick questions here
Hi does anyone know if I'm able to watch and bet on Australian horse racing anywhere in Vegas?
With the time difference it would be on around 10pm on a Friday night.
Also do the Sportsbars have live Australian football?
Thanks

That wasn't a soccer question, it was a Rugby League and Australian Rules question -
and nobody outside Australia watches either code
It will be finals time in Sept.

Well, that didn't work. Called this morning, explained that 3 days ago I had nearly every casino comped for my stay. She told me that based on occupancy the rates change blah blah. I told her that I understand that but it makes little sense that every casino was now overbooked when 3 days ago they were comped. Best price she could give me was $530 for our nights at bally's... I tried not to laugh but no dice. Guess I will call back tonight and talk to someone else. If not, time to start using my M-life card and book at an MGM property. Sigh.

that 10 dollars, is that a flat rate? or does it go up if you get bumped up to a better room?

Flat, I'm not aware of any resort fees that arent.

Sorry to hear. I've been very fortunate in my time to never have any massive bookups like that happen.

Booked a room at Aria for November. Any input on Aria's buffet for breakfast? Not interested in upscale dining. The food choices at Aria look very spensive! Any suggestions on cheap but good food options?
Traveling alone...Can anyone recommend a divey bar that's not gimmicky (Coyote Ugly) somewhere with cold beer and a good jukebox (rock, Oldies, country)
Thanks, any other food options for a solo traveler are appreciated.

There aren't very many dive type bars on the strip. All I can think of would be the Harley Davidson Cafe or Toby Keith's
Check the casual dining thread in the lifestyle section

Re: General Vegas Discussion/Questions/ETC - Post your quick questions here
Thanks for reply...off strip is fine as long as the cab ride is reasonable (10$).
Btw, if you leave the strip, how easy is it to get a ride back to the hotel on the strip.

Called Caesar's again and spoke to another woman - she was not much more helpful then the woman I spoke to this morning. I just don't understand how someone can go from having nearly everything comped room-wise to having hardly anything. Was checking their calendar...looks like I can get comped at Bally's/Flamingo the first night of my trip...and then its sky high for the remainder. For whatever reason I can get comped at Caesars on the 3rd night of my trip which is odd because I've never gotten comped at CP. Guess I'll keep waiting and checking. Wish I would have booked the rooms when they were comped...especially since we're staying longer then usual because I figured it was free.

Depends where you're going. If it's to a hotel, easy. If it's not, you might have to call and wait (and wait and wait). Note that a $10 cab ride off-strip won't take you very far though, that's basically about as far as the Hard Rock or Orleans.

Does anyone know if the last fountain show at Bellagio is at 11:45 or midnight?
It says it runs until midnight every 15min. Just trying to have my parents catch the last show of the night since I remember it being a nice finale.

Re: General Vegas Discussion/Questions/ETC - Post your quick questions here
Question about chech-ins:
On our last visit we stayed at Aria and arrived at the hotel/attempted to check-in ~1pm, or so. Rooms were not ready, so we gave them our mobile numbers and we were told we'd get a text message when the rooms were ready (2 rooms and 1 of those was wheelchair/handicapp accessible). We went to play some craps - no text, then we went and grabbed some early dinner - 6pm when we finished dinner - no text, went to Aria's Sportsbook to watch some baseball and finally at ~8pm we get a text stating the accessible room is ready, and it wasn't 5 minutes later and the second text letting us know the other room is set to go.
Seeing as check-in is 3pm, and since we paid for the rooms, should we have asked for an upgrade? Comps? Money deducted for our stay? Anything? Or, nothing, they reserve this right and it happens a lot? Should we have, at the least, asked for a reason why this happened? Manager? Additional info: this check-in was a Wednesday, not a weekend.
This was in June '11 but I just thought about this. I guess I was too happy to be in Vegas to make a scene when we were getting our keys. I guess I just would like some opinions and hopefully gain some insight as to what I should do/ask for should this happen again.
Thanks in advance!
