The decor doesn't bother me as long as they've replaced the mattress and anything else that would harbor bed bugs.

Either a sign the Vegas economy is tanking more or is recovering.

It's true your level is good for a year, BUT you have to keep playing to maintain that level.

Wrong. You can requalify in one day again near the end. Dont spout inaccuracies please.

Who's spouting. I'm writing.

What I mean is you have play again, either throughout the year or a day, to renew.

He asked about play needed to maintain and your original reply really didn't answer that.

Reverend? Sounds religious

I think we found one with good reviews online who is available yesterday evening. If it falls through, will definitely look into her, though, thanks.

During the WSOP, what time period is the heaviest number of poker players in town? Would it be the first week of the WSOP? 1st week of Main Event?

FWIW If I went it would only be to grind cash games.

Thx

Lately, I've been thinking about taking some of the money I've budgeted for poker tournaments this trip and going out to the track to drive a car really fast instead. Is early Spring a good time to do this or is there a different time of the year where the track conditions are just about perfect for going the fastest you can?

Given I can still edit this post, I thought I'd just add a question about a different subject. Is there a best time to eat at a restaurant in Vegas meaning is it best to be one of the first customers for dinner, come at about the middle of service, or be one of the last patrons?

ehh, this is a tough question and really isn't that important b/c no matter when you go there is going to be a few thousand aspiring poker players in town. games are plentiful from beginning to end of WSOP.

i would say that it's likely the first week of WSOP when people are just getting into town with fresh bankrolls. either that, or the days leading up to the ME when there are 6,000 people in town with at least 10k they're willing to plunk down.

i'd say if you're grinding 2/5 or 5/10 that the first week would be best. if you're playing 10/20 or higher, then come just before and during the ME.

Nope, not religious - more of a non- denominational minister. She has both religious and non-religious programs. Good luck and congrats!

I've done the middle and I've done the end, and I liked the middle better. Never been there at the beginning.

Now there's a question I'd expect from Doc. The best time to eat a restaurant is when you're hungry.

Not even on my best day could I eat a restaurant.

The question, while sounding goofy, comes from the fact that we've gone to the same restaurants here and gotten wildly different service/food quality depending on the time of day at some of them.

Just wondering if being first would be best because the staff would probably be at the high point of energy, in the middle because they'd be in the groove, or at the last because they want to finish strong.

that's just variance imo. at any time there may be like 25% (completely made up number) of the staff that's new or flat out sucks or w/e.

i don't think it matters much but i think being last would be the worst of the 3 options b/c they want to gtfo.

I can only address Las Vegas buffets. You certainly don't want to arrive near the end of the day since they won't be putting out any more fresh food, and you'll probably need 60-90 minutes to chow down.

The best time to arrive at a Las Vegas buffet is near the end of lunch, you can eat your main meal of the day at lunch prices. Alternatively, if you arrive at the very end of lunch in those buffets that don't close between lunch and dinner, or which serve "better" food for dinner (e.g. shrimp, crab, and/or prime rib) you can eat a later and/or better meal at lunch prices.

Real answer (from a former waiter): doesn't really matter.

Beginning of the shift: the kitchen is still getting their **** together but you probably won't notice.

Middle: that's just regular restaurant time. Either things will be clicking or they won't.

Late: don't go late, just because it pisses off the staff if you come in late. By "late" I mean 15 minutes before closing.

The fiancee had the same idea that if we go to a buffet it needs to be one that doesn't close and just before lunch becomes dinner.

Early check-in????

Next month I will be going to LV staying at Palazzo and I have a very early flight that gets in around 9am. Will this be a problem? I have checked in in the 11am to noon timeframe plenty and never had a problem but this is a few hours earlier. Should I expect to chill in the casino or cofeeshop for a while?

I've had very good luck with this over the years, and a lot of nicer places will even call you when your room is ready in the case that nothing is available. I usually check with the desk right when I get in, even if it's 9am, and if there's no room available I drop my bag at the bell desk and just start my trip and check back at 1pm or so (or 1am a few times )
