I'm looking for tickets for the Criss Angel show at the Luxor for sometime in between the 26th and 30th of December. What would be the best way to obtain these? Is it possible to grab the tickets from one of those 50% off places or will the show probably sell out earlier?

I'd imagine they'd sell out earlier, those 50% off places are for regular daily shows really.

I am planning my first trip to Vegas, shooting for late December. Becuase of my degenerate gambling in Atlantic City, I have comped rooms at the following:

Rio (Deluxe Studio Suite)
Harrah's
Flamingo (Deluxe Room)
Bally's (South Tower)
Imperial Palace (do not comment - not even thinking about it )

Which one is my best option? I would like to stay on the strip, in close proximity to several other casinos. Rio is an option if within decent walking distance to the strip. An a map, I see Bally's is across the street from Ballagio. Can you view the fountain from a hotel room at Bally's?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, some of them. A tip at the front desk at checkin will probably get you set up.

Harrah's is okay, but I like Bally's a little more. I like the poker room more, PH is nearby. Harrah's is close to the Venetian though.

The walk from the rio isnt that bad... it prolly takes you like 15 minutes over that pedestrian bridge... could be a pain at night depending on how cold it gets but cabs are cheap and plentiful.

Of the others Flamingo>ballys>harrahs imo

Nah Rio is too far from the center of the strip to make it a good choice amongst those, plus the Rio poker room kind of sucks.

I would probably pick Harrah's out of those, Bally's and Flamingo are alright too. All 3 are mid-tier hotels. Def. try to tip your way to a better room when you check in

I've stayed at Bally's, Harrah's and Rio. Rio has the nicest rooms and a daily shuttle to the strip. Harrah's is right on the strip and right across the street from the Caesar's Poker Room with the Venetian a 5 minute walk. Bally's has some older rooms so be prepared to tip your way into a renovated room. If you are like most people who visit Vegas, you won't be in your room very often, so I'd go with the most convenient option which is Harrah's.

Hey guys I'll ask here before I make a thread.

I've been offered a free Club Pass for Vegas, apparently this can be used to get into several clubs without cover. Is anyone familiar with the value and use of this Pass?

Can someone summarize or link me to a list of good Vegas clubs/bars?

You can get free passes to Tryst, etc in the poker rooms, and probably lots of other places. Make sure you have no restrictions, like what times you can get in for free.

I just checked online and it looks like Tao/Tryst are only open thur-sunday? Is this correct? I thought these clubs were open everyday.

Heading back to Vegas in Nov for a week with a few friends. Booked for Harrah's but just got an offer for Venetian/Palazzo for a suite for a few nights that I can redeem anytime until Jan 31/09, so deciding whether to baller it up now, or make another trip before end of Jan.

If you're going with a friend/partner/wife try entering their total rewards number on the reservations page and see if Paris comes up COMP, if it does take that, and make sure they put you in a renovated room.

Out of the other choices Rio has the best rooms, but no way on earth would I walk it. So I'd take Ballys, the rooms are large, and make sure they put you in the better tower.

On a COMP stay the front desk tip rarely works, since they'll want to confirm with a host before upgrading the room type

No. He said he wants to see the Bellagio fountains.

There's nothing wrong with the south tower. They aren't as new as the other tower, but they're hardly worn out and broken down.

The tip isn't for an upgrade, it's to make sure he gets the view he wants.

A friend and I are now looking to move our arrival dates a couple of days earlier and maybe catch Craiq win the WSOP, and was wondering whether or not anyone have any tips as to an area we can loiter around and maybe pick up a girl or two.

Heading to Vegas in less than 24 hours....just a question to who's been recently/there now:

Are there any particularly good places to be playing 1/2 & 2/5 NLHE?

I'm staying at the MGM Grand and have heard from others that the games there are good since no serious players travel that far down the strip to play.

Hey, read through this thread and there is a lot of great advice but just got a few questions.

Me and my bro are planning our first ever trip to vegas in September of next year, obv a long way away but a lot of saving will have to be done as were not balla.

None of us drive so i assume its best to stay on the strip, we are going to be there for 2 weeks so don't want to spend a fortune on a hotel, whats the best central hotel which is relatively cheap?

We are going to see Vegas and also play some poker, probably play some 200NL and some <$100 tournaments if there is any.. for two weeks how much do you think we will need.. i have no ideas about the prices in Vegas. I was thinking around $4.5k. Would that be enough to play some poker and just generally have a good time but not doing anything to balla.

Any help is much appreicated.

You've got a year to learn how to drive.

Well, depending on your meaning of relative here's where you should start (I've only listed mid-strip hotels in this post):

Cheapest on the strip (near the mid-strip action):

Casino Royale
Bill's Gambling Hall and Saloon

The casinos are dirty and out of old school Vegas(and I do frequent them when I visit vegas), but the room rates are low and most people who stay there comment that the rooms are clean and a step above motel (youth hostel) quality. Not posh by anyone's definition, but you aren't going to vegas to spend time in a hotel room. Note, hot chicks will not be impressed when they find out you are staying at either of these locations.

On the next tier I'd put:

Imperial Palace
Harrah's
Flamingo
Bally's

All owned by Harrah's. IP will be the cheapest option for a reason. Flamingo has the nicest pool of mid-priced hotels. The Harrah's website shows what offers they have.

If you can afford better than what is listed above next on the list would be (in no particular order):

Planet Hollywood
Mirage
Treasure Island
Paris

Heading a bit south of mid strip, but not terribly inconvenient:
Monte Carlo
MGM
New York New York

Finally, the most expensive rooms will be:

Bellagio
Wynn/Encore
Venetian/Palazzo
Caesar's Palace

Thanks mate, just what i was looking for.

Had a look on Harrahs and Imperial Palace website and looks like it might be between those two.

Just trying to get price estimates for flights and hotels just now, cheers.

Bally's and Harrah's are definitely not on the same tier as IP.
