Going out for the first weekend of March Madness, sometime around 3/17. Is it generally warm enough to swim in the outdoor pools? It will be a factor in the hotel decision.

Hit or miss. Your definition of "warm enough" would be handy.

Think it's more about the pools having a crowd vs. my definition. I'm cool down to mid 60's - low 70's.

Call around to hotels to see if their pools are even open at this time.

Keep in mind that when the water will feel colder than the air. If the air is 68 oF, the water will feel really cold.

That being said, I went in late April and it was barely "warm enough" for the pools then. People were out but not a lot of people were in the water.

This is my experience in mid- to late April and mid- to late October (notwithstanding current heat wave). The number on the thermometer looks OK but you freeze your a-- as soon as you get out and the wind hits you. Fine for just sitting on a chaise though.

I had a last minute trip pop up for Oct 20-23 and no rooms are available for the Wynn or The Venetian. What's going on out there, I thought he the place was suppose to be dead?

Thanks

This should be listed somewhere as a poker game selection tool.

Tech Ed. 5k attendees.

SAP conference at the venetian that week. On the plus side, SAP sales guys and engineers make very good bank and many like poker and are way worse than they think they are at it.

That site brings some great trivia like .. Which will have more attendees?

A: The International Sourdough Reunion
B: The American Society of Tax Problem Solvers
C: American Payroll Associations Seminar on Payroll Administration in the UK

Dry air makes the moisture evaporate much quicker which cools the surface way more. Same reason you sweat profusely in humid heat but less in dry heat.

Kinda wondering, how does chip handling in the poker rooms work? Can you actually buy chips with you creditcard / traveler cheques or do they prefer cash?
