another comp question ( sorry dont want to read through pages to find one answer )

i plan on playing tons of cash games when im in vegas and i heard some rooms offer discounts or even comp your room for poker players. If anyone has some insight on this would be a huge help.

thanks

also only using the room for sleep and shower, staying 3 weeks.

where whatever you want in the casinos (as long as it includes some kind of shorts/pants and shirt). If you go out clubbing best to wear jeans, collered shirt, and shoes (as opposed to sneakers). Some clubs may not have as strict a dress code as others, but it would stick suck to get turned away at a club because of how you're dressed.

Call up and ask what the poker rate is. Keep in mind you usually you have to play 4-6 hours a day to get it.

Don't expect comp rooms from just playing poker, the casino makes barely anything off your action in the poker room so they comp accordingly. $1-$2 in food comps an hour is the norm out here. Once in awhile you might get a comped room for IP or Ballys through playing poker but don't expect a 3 night comp at a place like Aria or Bellagio from playing there cause it just won't happen.

Anyone know where I could exchange Australian dollars for US in Vegas where I won't get creamed on the exchange rate?

Banks in Australia are taking 5%+ spreads and I've heard some casinos are pretty good but I don't know which or where.

Help is appreciated.

Not 100% sure but I think they take time at those limits instead of rake in which point they are making less from that game then they make from the rake in 1/3 NL or 4/8LHE.

Any place near tropicana/mgm where i can rent a car just for 1 day to go shopping off strip? Price and car type not that important, easy and fast pick up/ drop off are more important to me.

There is a Budget rent a car on Trop and Valley View right across the street from the Orleans, probably cheaper to rent there then on strip.

There is a roller coaster over at New York, New York. There is some kind of jump thing at Stratosphere. You can drive the track at the speedway in a high performance car. You can do indoor skydiving. You can fire an Uzi at an indoor range. You can take a helicopter tour of the strip. Some things will be more expensive than others.

What are your interests?

No but I'd be careful walking late at night by myself there are a lot of homeless and panhandlers in the area and maybe more so now that the Sahara has closed.
