Seems about right with MGM PGP. They've downgraded all the linens at Bellagio too cause that **** costs money yo.

Convention traffic can really skew things during the week since I'm guessing there aren't as many Uber/Lyft drivers on the road.

Suggestions for a wine/liquor store with some higher end wines and whiskies with prices for locals not tourists? Preferably near the strip or Rio

Apologies if this has been asked before. I've had a quick scan back but there's so many pages.

I have reserved a room at The Linq, and in my reservation confirmation e-mail, in the small print it says I must present a credit card for an incidental deposit at the desk, and that debit cards and cash are not accepted.

I do not own a credit card (foolishly I know) and do not have time to get one (this adventure was spur of the moment).

Will I be denied entry or is there exceptions/alternatives?

nah you're good. when you use a credit card the charges are pending and disappear when you check out. when you use a debit card, they actually charge the card $50/night, and then refund it after your stay.

they put that in the fine print because they would prefer you use a credit card for their own purposes. i've checked in to CET properties with both.

Alright nice one. Had me panicking. Do you know if I could use the debit card on those self-check in machines?

Thanks for replying

the self check in machines have NEVER worked for me. i get to the end and it says "go to the desk" or "we can email you when the room is ready." i don't know the answer, but my instinct is that it won't work.

luckily, i'm diamond, so i don't have to wait in the often ridiculous check in lines.

I love the linq check in, but there's probably a 0.1% chance a debit card would work

debit cards work fine for hotels, you just need to have an available balance greater than what the hotel is trying to charge you. Also you won't get the money back for several business days

Locally Sheraton charges $50 total and Westin $100 total, but if it's $50 per night as mentioned above you'll need that as available balance

I thought most debit cards can be used as debit cards, no? Anyways, I don't own a credit card and never will. I've had no problem using my debit cards but have never tried self check-in.

I am not sure this is the right place to ask.
According to Bravo - PH promotions are:
Cash Game High Hands- Quads $50 Straight Flushes $100 Royal Flushes $500

Now Mirage has a Similar High Hand promo, But also has Freerolls, BadBeat Jackpot, and Aces Cracked in the morning.

I don't get it is PH trying to rebuild funds during the WSOP to distribute to the locals.
What am I missing ?

PH has had those high hand promotions for a while now. They aren't special for the WSOP.

It's almost here!!! Headed out 6/28 in the evening and will be staying at the Linq. Will be in Vegas until 7/5. My bankroll will be $5500. The only tourney I really want to play will be the ME @ GN. I have three day ones to choose from but I'm leaning towards playing day 1C, mainly because I'd like to play some tourneys beforehand to get myself in grind mode. My thoughts so far are this:

6/28- Arrive in the evening, obviously get all boozed up and play some cash and table games

6/29- Play in a smaller tourney, something like a daily deepstack @Rio or some other daily, maybe @ PH or GN, possibly even Aria if the timing is right (I'm thinking I'd prefer a daily and I think they're big pull tourney is a 7pm IIRC). Definitely grind more cash and table games.

6/30-Play in another daily tourney somewhere in the $100-300 BI range. I'm definitely playing in a DDS @Rio one of these first two days. Then grind more cash and table games.

7/1- Enter into day 1C of GN ME.

From 7/2-7/5, I'm pretty open. If I'm doing well in the ME then that will happily eat up most of my time. If not, my thought is to play more dailies at GN, Rio, PH, Wynn, or elsewhere and grind cash. I'll probably try to do at least one tourney a day with possibly one day off to do something different. My general thought with buyins is to keep it between $100-300.

If things are going well, I'm open to playing in the WPT $500 event @Aria. I was torn between that and the GN ME initially but the GN seems like it's better value. If I run up a big score in a 1/2 game or in a tourney early though, I'll consider playing in both. I thought about maybe a wsop satty but idk if there are any exciting tourneys going on while I'm in Vegas.

I'm looking for critiques of my gameplan and for some suggestions from you cool people. Right now, my plan is to evenly split my money up from 6/29-7/5. I'm going to commit $400 to the 6/28 evening and probably evenly disburse whatever is left of that amongst the other days. So $5100/7= $728/day purely for gambling purposes.

I've never dug into future days spending money in the past so I'm hoping I won't have a problem there! Usually I'll just place the winnings/whatevers left after each day back in it's assigned envelope and then count it all up after the trip to see how I did. If I have a huge score early or something though, I'm certainly willing to dig into a previous days earnings to take a shot @ a BI a little bigger.

Any advice?? I. ****ing. Cannot. Wait.

Also, I'm up for posting this as a thread but wasn't sure if this would generate enough discussion.

I mean, enjoy Vegas and whatnot - but getting wrecked and playing multiple poker tourneys in Vegas that aren't just Aria dailies seems like the worst way to do Vegas. And drunk continuous cash games seems almost worse.

Poker players are legitimately the worst people you want to interact with at the casino, and that's including sportsbook skeets. Meet some degens playing bj or craps and hang out with them - you might have some fun!

I'm coming back to Vegas after a long hiatus. As a non-drinker and only bud smoker now am I able to purchase at the local dispensaries if I have a medicinal card from another state? If not, are there any reputable delivery services? Please PM if you have the info I'm looking for.

..

Offhand, this might be true.

I would say horse people, and sportsbook people are better.

You should always cross reference with prices offered by the major casinos membership card site (ie mlife or total rewards). FWIW, you should be able to sign up online.

Oh man, that's what I've always loved doing haha. I usually love just sitting at a table and getting wasted, building up a stack. I'm always up to suggestions. I do love to degen it out via craps/blackjack and such also.
