Home sick tonight (like at home sick, not like waaa I don't want to be in LV) so gonna get an update up, I'll try to keep it relatively short and toss some pics up and whatnot.

Was getting kinda jaded/dissatisfied with the live grind and I don't like going out much at all during the winder here so took Dec, Jan, and Feb and in an effort to be productive I went on the online grind. I played a pretty insane volume especially in relation to the past few years averages close to 50 hrs/week multi-tabling for most that time and with the highest volume weeks exceeding 57 hours. During this time I spend a lot of time reviewing hands and running hhs with friends/coach/software so between that and getting in more hands than probably last 2-3 yrs of live poker my game is probably the sharpest it's been in 5 years and I hope to keep it trending up this year with work off the tables.


Coming off this period I put in a live mtt grind of sorts. I was very motivated getting back to both live and mtts in one stroke but despite playing solid I bricked the 6-7 events I played. Had a few of those nasty 10-12 hour Day 1 runs to bust in last lvl before bags. I won't go into whining bad beat details but gii in great spots all except one where I leveled myself on an aggro bluff line vs a very solid mtt player and hit the minuscule part of his range he could sigh-call river.








After that it was time to get back to the live cash games. Coming off so much online volume I have been shooting for 7 hour days 5-6 days a week but falling somewhat short for a few reasons. This illness I picked up the other day has cost me 3 days alone. Pretty sure I picked it (sick) up at the Perfect Circle show at the Palms but show was def worth it and it was the first time they have played together in over 6 years. A fun side note, lost $65 at blackjack and something like $200+ more at craps that night before the show...I was betting an aggressive dont strat and taking big odds on 4 and 10...this old Asian dude goes on a 40 minute god-roll hitting sooo many points including 5 fours and 3 10s so pretty much wiped me out.

I guess the other main things that hold me back on live volume are the normal culprits ie travel time/game selection ect. Aside from getting sidelined last few days though it's been a nice return to the live games. I'm enjoying myself again so much more than the online grind and it doesn't hurt that I'm running about as good as humanly possible over this relatively insignificant sample size. As you can see in pics I've mostly been at Aria it's been a convenient camp at the moment but I'm always open to shifting around game selecting.

Being sick has kinda got me feeling the need to eat healthier and slam gym going forward so I feel like that's going to aide my poker performance as well. I found this little Poke place last time I was wandering China Town/West Spring Mnt area. Food was affordable and pretty solid so I'll be back there. I'm also trying to be more conscientious about what I'm eating when I'm out grinding but fkkk it's tough if you have the sort of pizza/chzburger/junk Chinese food cravings that I do and your surrounded by easy inexpensive options in that ballpark. I've def become a far too frequent patron of 5-50 pizza at the Aria.

Plan going forward is pretty simple; Back on the grind tomorrow hopefully, continue the sun-run, try to put in an amount of off table work on poker comparable to what I did when online, and get well situated for some juicy cash games this series/summer. As I mentioned I'm not doing vids with any regulatory for now but will be updating this thread with some LVL stuff and some pokerz stuff and some food stuff and I have been trying to be pretty active on SnapChat at wheydacheese at least when my cell phone camera isnt shtting out.

ok I kid. Would oblige you but I don't even have any of my hardware let alone software from when I played online more and so only tracked results in a crude/casual sense since it started as a week/2 week project and snowballed into me not leaving house for days at a time over the winter. Had I known I was going to get serious about it even so long as I did I would have been more meticulous in that regard. Sufficed to say I beat small stakes multitabling at a non soul crushing rate that equated to a bit less $/hourly than my llsnl w/r but with a ridiculously higher volume of hours (I think I was averaging under 30/week live by that point)

*I did run exceptionally well those first few weeks to the point of deluding myself into thinking I might still be more competitive onlinez than I truly am given my lack of work in that arena in so many years. Things lvld off to pretty unenthusiastic meh afterwards.

You playing a lot of 2/5 now?

Everything's on the menu including 1-2 plo since plo was one of the main focuses of the volume online and coaching.

Will be out grinding tonight although bravo not looking so hot. Might end up at da Wynn.

Crazy session for a Tuesday last night/am as the Snapchat people's got a glimpse of. The 1-2 plo game was playing really big and I got piles in from well ahead and in super high equity spots to get repetitively smashed to a pulp. Fair to say I lost between $5000-7000 in total pots that I had an even to significant advantage in and $1500 alone to a 2 and 3 outer respectively.

I ended up in the game for $2500 which is pretty mind blowing for me but trucked on to do some damage control bc game stayed juicey and I didn't feel mentally compromised by the -$. To give you an idea how good game was I was able to grind out of the hole especially when game broke down to short handed and skill edges take far greater precedence and booked a LOL +$150 win on a 14 hour marathon session. Bout to jump in shower then it's back out for more abuse tonight.

Which Perfect Circle show were you at? I was at Friday's and I thought it was amazing. I like the opening act as well. I saw them in 2013 as well when they came here.

Yeah Perfect Circle was great, we saw the 3rd night they added on which was great bc we didn't get tix soon enough for the first 2. I really like Talking Stick if I go AZ soon it will be there if Cali will be Commerce and possibly pop in at the Bike.

Well I've now been back on the live grind since March 25th and just crossed the first 100 hours of live play mark since being back. I very rarely post anything stats related in here but wanted to show how comically ridiculous I've been running. Def more luck/running above EV than anything else as I have won pretty much every hand I am well ahead in and quite a bit more than my expected share of flip type situations.

The sample is 1-2 and 1-3 only but does include both nlh and plo. Interestingly enough we ran at a nearly identical hourly in both game types. 100 hrs is of course insignificantly small+meaningless so posting it more to show how funny variance can be in poker and could also be an interesting case study to juxtapose the next 100 hours which could look drasssstically different.




Only other thing of note is the large dip you see in the graph is a night I lost the largest live game cash pot I've ever lost at $3400 in a crazy game. Got it in good and was also virtually freerolling (80℅+) for a $700 sidepot but was a loss for me on both main and sidepot...Had I won that one stats woulda been truly pukeworthy. I'm glad I'm running really well live though because I think it would be bad for me mentally/physically to slip back into such a secluded/obsessive online grind.

On the food front I popped in to Kaya Sushi for a late night dinner the other day but it was too crowded so I ate at this new place right nextdoor called Pho90. I've been looking for a new solid Vietnese/Pho place since finally parting ways with PhoSaigon... Unfortunately they got a series of poor health inspection grades (Saigon). I can look the other way a bit since they nitpick on those things but if a place consistently doesn't address the issues even I'm gonna jump ship. I was very pleased with the Pho90 place and the owner didn't even charge me for the Jasmine tea I ordered so was $9.57 for a monster bowl of rare steak pho w/brisket that I could only finish maybe 2/3 of. Srry no pics bc my phone camera has been very selective on when it will and won't function but I'm sure I'll be back there soon.

Probably just play a few hrs of 1-2nlh tonight then take tomorrow off and bounce around the strip to mix things up over tues-thurs. Changed Snapchat settings so should be viewable to the public at wheydacheese; I try to snap most days but like I said phone cam been super flakey. On that note does anyone know how it works if I were to buy like a used unlocked phone...Could my carrier change activation to that phone or? Thx

if it's unlocked then yeah your carrier will just transfer service to that phone after you stick your sim in it
