Well first off sushi pics from Kaya last week (yes AGAIN) since I never grow tired of eating sushi are taking pornographic images of it for that matter. I actually looked at my little punch card thing and hadn't been in months which is wild since I often go weekly.
***saved part of this in notepad when I was typing it so the text looks sort of fked up in this format.
So the previous week or so was fairly uneventful in the live cash pokerz.
I ran pretty neutral, played kinda stale/non creative and booked small wins.
Then I decided to buy in deep in the Wynn 2-5 and lost -$685 putting me
down a bit for the week. Definitely getting frustrated that my 2-5 hourly
barely squeaks over my 1-2...some of it is running bad but I'm starting to
think I am approaching it with a degree of trepidation that's costing me a lot
of potential profit. The Wynn 2-5 seems tougher than the others as well but
I don't think that's the problem. Anyhow I keep hitting it since I love the
room and playing deep, guess I figure if I can reg here I can beat it better
elsewhere but would probably benefit me to dabble around more around town as I move into a higher % 2-5. Ill post the hand I lost the most on here below:
Me: $1280 behind
V: Covers
Tables been playing pretty tight, myself included. Honestly not a very
lucrative table but I'm stubborn and keep coming back wanting to beat this
game well/consistently. It's folded around to V on button, a mid 30s basic
looking white guy, quite, headphones, seems solid haven't seem him get out
of line but has opened in position with somewhat high frequency. Anyhow
he opens to $14 which has been his standard...so small I feel ok about
defending 4c6c in the BB after SB flats as well. Flop comes 4-6-8 w/2
spades, SB check, I check, V who has been C-betting most anything he
opens (which is the only way to semi-justify his weak opening raises) bets
out $20, SB folds, I c/r to $50 and he calls. Turn is a non spade 5...I check
and he bets $80. I suppose he could have a 7 in his range, ultimately I
decide to just flat seeing as I don't see any value in raising if I'm ahead
(and can be behind). River is the 4 of spades, I lead out $130, on the small
side to get value if he doesn't have flush, he reraises to $300 which was very
unexpected. I tank a long time but just can't figure it out right...I suppose he could have big flush but what a weird card to put this raise on and I said
he's competent. I did bet on the small side which could look defensive and
induce from a wider value range (and rarely bluffing the spades with the dry
As or something) so hate the spot but certainly not going to fold. V flips
pp88 to take it down. I bought back up to max but started feeling I wasn't
playing ideal especially for this table so decided to just leave stuck.
Other poker news is the upcoming VDS1 series I'll be playing a ton of. I've
dropped most my work on other poker variants for the moment to focus on
mtt strategy more leading up to it with the exception of omaha8 which I
have an affinity for and have been working on a lot at and away from the
tables. I think I can soon be proficient to solid in most of the poker variants
I'm working on but can be a major contender at any level of omaha8
(especially plo8). That said, I should be working on straight plo more since
that's the main cash game I plan to target this summer.
On the mind/body front, been getting lean/dry and staying hungry; working on conditioning as well as recomping bf%. I have little trouble packing on weight and slightly more loosing it, but doing a recomp is the toughest b/c the idea is to maintain the same weight while simultaneously gaining muscle and losing fat. Took a lot of tweaking on the workouts and moreso the diet but finally found the balance now where I'm maintaining strength (even small increases) and burning out the fat. Down to about 13% bf and Ill probably take it down as low as 8-9%. Diet has been ridiculously clean which has me feeling more energized and focused lately. I basically eat pounds and pounds of vegetables all day with some lean proteins like fish tossed in. I've cut out dairy, processed carbs, and red meat (tried but couldn't totally ditch red meat so I've been eating a lot of lamb) and I think that has contributed to me feeling better. I do do at least one big cheat meal a week which was sushi this week but try to correlate it with a max leg lifting day or something. I was going to go watch a band and bowl over at Brooklyn Bowl last night but got caught up doing pokerz, cool place though so I'll try to go and do a review with some pics in the next few weeks.
A typical meal a few times a day (juiced, cooked, or just eaten) it aint fun/good but if you just mindlessly chomp away it goes down:
Doesn't always have to suck though I made these badass tacos the other day:
For anyone following the little WSOP.com no depost $0 to bankroll side challenge I'm doing here's the update. I ran the balance up to $63 but then my lack of online volume showed as I took some bigger shots at some plo games and took it to busto. Tiny bit of $ but I was super pissed that I had lost my composure and blown my momentum on the challenge so I got stubborn and went back to the freerolls. I took 10 cents, 10 cents, and 50 cents in three freerolls then ran that 70 cents up to a high of $75 but sitting right at $60 at the moment, gonna try to keep things going on this one and not be stupid, it's hard with the balance being so negligible monetarily so I just try to see it as a game with a score. I'll post 2 of the plo hands I busted the $63 balance on below, they are pretty sick if you know plo.
low stakes plo hand 1: 10 cent 20 cent game me and V sitting on bout $20 limped around and V pots it pre and I call with 2 other callers my hand is
KK56 double suited. Flop comes K74, V pots, I repot, other 2 fold, and
he calls...I think we are pretty close to all in here. Turn is a 7 and he goes all
in, I call (or I might have tossed in the tiny difference I had left over his bet I
don't recall the betting specifics other than were all in on turn), he shows
AA77 for the quad 7s...puke.
low stakes plo hand 2: 10 cent 20 cent game relative stacks around $20
again. this hand was more straight forward I had 9-10-Q-J the Qand9 suited
clubs. I decided to play it aggro in late position so potted over some limpers
went 5 ways to flop. flop nuts with redraw 9s10c-Kc, checked to me and I
pot, folded around to one V who flats. turn is benign like a red 7, check to
me I pot putting us pretty much in and he flats. river is another 10 and he
leads out the rest all in. pretty sure I can ditch it here it's usually burning $
to call but his remaining bet is so small compared to the pot and I'm
frustrated so I crying call to see even worse hand than I suspected, he had
K-10 and takes it.
On the new balance I've pretty much just been playing micro stuff in my free time trying to get shorthanded and heads up action whenever I can on the site. I forgot how insanely angry and life hating some people can be online...they just spew this aggressive angry dialogue but I take a ridiculous amount of pleasure in just trolling them into it deeper by playing to it while I take there little micro stacks.
I'll have to post some of the funny chat logs later.
Second week of Jan live cash has started off nice with a +$135 and a +$289 in short 1-2 sessions; 2 interesting hands happened in the most recent session, if people don't hate all the poker ranting in this update already I'll probably post them up later.
